WLS Journey & Beyond!
I first found the website for this WLS patient a long time before my decision to have surgery. But I've kept it all this time because it was so inspirational to me. And I often visit it to see Caroline's updates. The site is FULL of detailed photos from pre-op through her many post-op reconstructive surgeries. When I first saw the section of her excess skin photos it scared the crap out of me because I didn't know if I'd rather be morbidly obese or deal with the excess skin. Believe me, the photos in that section are very graphic but I applaud her on posting them for others to see that the weight loss surgery journey does not end after reaching our weight loss goals. She was in a size 7x! Then seeing her photos after the reconstructive surgeries still gives me much hope and inspiration.
Knowing I don't have insurance and could probably never afford the reconstructive surgery, I finally decided that if I was blessed enough to have been given the opportunity for the GP surgery possible, something would work out so when the time is right and if it's meant to have my leftover skin removed, it will happen.
I just wanted to share this site with you all since many of us are thinking about our journey that continues beyond WLS. Caroline has her journey broken down in different sections. The section that has her excess skin photos is "My Reconstructive Journey -225 lbs & Before" and is password protected. The password is ( ps ). And the only reason I'm putting her password here is because she does give the password on her ObesityHelp profile.
