well not just that but I was scared of having a nice tighter belly again just to stretch it out and pay for a TT twice! I think if I were to do it bfore pregnant I would look at having JUST the skin removed a panni.. then go for the full tuck after pregnancy.

I have already starting the ball rolling for my tummy tuck. I am 40 pounds from goal, but went to the doctor to complain, and get cream. I am taking pictures and documenting everything. I DON'T CARE IF IT HURTS! IT IS UGLY AND I WANT IT GONE GONE GONE! Hope to have it done in December 2007. Shelly

I too, am going to have tt in the future. I still have about 80 lbs left to goal, so I am not going to do it anytime soon. But it is in the future sometime. I could probably use a complete body lift, but we will have to see on the financial part of that one. My worst area is my tummy. It was big before weight loss, it has shrunk so, but still could use the tt. Hope everyone is doing fine Hugs to everyone Kathleen

I am with you Shelly, Get it gone!!! I still have about 50 to 60 pounds to goal but will pursue a tummy tuck as soon as I can. I may also opt for a breast lift, just to put them back up where they belong, not hanging on my navel!! Julia

I so agree with that. When I first started my WLS journey, I felt like I wouldn't care as long as I lost weight, but I'm getting more vain, lol. I want to get my TT, my boobs filled (because they are really like pancakes), my bat wings, and I also want my neck done because I now have chicken skin on my neck. I am sure that I am going to have to pay for some of it, but I'll cross that bridge eventually. Sue

I definitely have the hanging/loose skin on my stomach. Also my thighs and worse than stomach and thighs are my upper arms. I've had no problems though with the skin irritation, splitting, or infections. I will definitely need surgery for all those areas down the road but since I don't have insurance and will be forever paying for my GP, it'll be waaaaay down the road . Just be sure you document the skin issues with your doctor and photos. I know a woman who had GP 3 years ago and she's still fighting her insurance company for the skin removal. She's had many issues with infections from the excess skin. BUT... I also have a friend who had GP last year. She too has TriCare. And they told her as long as she can prove that the excess skin is causing medical issues, i.e. infections, splitting, bleeding, etc. and has it documented with her doctor, they should cover the plastics. That being said, she's had NONE of the problems with the excess skin.

Jenn- I also have Tricare (prime) and I just had my circumfrential tummy tuck (with butt lift) and muscle tightning.....on Dec 22nd. I had been maintaining my weight since Aug. so my bypass surgeon gave me the go ahead. Tricare paid for my tummy tuck, without any documentation of rashes or anything. The plastic surgeon did take pics of the skin on my tummy hanging and of him lifting the skin on my backside. It only took about 2-3 days to get the yes from Tricare. I did not try for the breast approval bc I am not having any reduction just implants. and they will not pay for the implant at all from what i understand unless its bc of breast cancer and reconstructive. hope this might help with that end of it, as far as having a baby goes i would wait if you are planning on the baby ...just from the point of my tummy is SO tight and flat right now i couldnt imagine it allowing for room for a baby.....i am sure it would but i would figure that with the muscles being stitched down it would HURT if you have anything else that i might be able to help with just let me know take care~ Jen
