Off Topic Story - What happened to us

Let me start this by saying that I am not blowing my own horn when I tell this story, but it's proof that the Lord provides. My brother has been going through some medical stuff in the past few months. At first he didn't tell us, but my sister in law broke down and told us that things were very difficult and my brother had to go out on disability. His disability payments were not covering all his bills and he was fighting for the payments at the same time. Since he is my baby brother and I adore him and his wife and my nephews, my husband and I went food shopping for them and gave them cards for the supermarket near them, figuring that this would be one burden off them. Then with Christmas coming up and my nephews are 7 and 12, I told my kids that we would go easy on our gifts to each other and put more into the cousins since they were still young. My kids were fine and happy to oblige. So in doing this, I ended up spending more than I could afford (using my credit card), but I feel at peace with what we were doing. Even if I had to take longer than normal to pay off my card, I was fine with doing it (I don't carry balances on my cards). Right after Christmas, my husband won a contest and got a cash prize of a few thousand dollars. Not long after that, I went into work and my boss told me that he had just given me a raise that morning (we had negotiated a package for me the prior year, but when I had my WLS I was in and out of work from April to July and he never once docked me for the time that I missed, so I let the next step of the package go figuring I would renegotiate again next year.) He obvously couldn't understand why I was as stunned as I was. I told my sons about it later - it's so true that the Lord provides. And it's also true that we have to "pay it forward". Anyway, that's my story and I just wanted to share it. Have a great weekend! Sue

Susan, That was just beautiful. God is GOOD, and he does reward those you believe. I am so happy that you were there for your family. That truly is a blessing, and it shows that God is always there for us, and takes care of us. Thanks for sharing. Kathleen
