Nine Month Check-up
Whoa, 9 months as of the 27th - I can't believe it's been that long. Seemed just like yesterday I was going in for the first meeting.
So, I saw the surgeon about two weeks ago and he was very happy. I saw the Health Center Doctor today and she was super happy. She stood outside the door and reviewed my chart before coming in and I heard "Wow!" She came in the room and kind of sheepishly said "Did you hear that?" I just started laughing. She agreed to let me come off of my blood pressure med! I just have to be checked in a month to be sure she made the right choice. After the one year mark I will be allowed to stop the Prevacid and then I will only be on vitamins, calcium, iron, zinc and my birth control pills. Can't wait!
Then I checked in with our exercise guru and he was happy also. He said that usually people don't check back in with him after having surgery. I just wanted to get a clear plan of what sort of exercise I should be doing. Get the most bang for my buck and time sort of thing. He set me up with a pretty good routine, can't wait to get started. I think the exercise bug has bitten. Scary!!! I've even been contemplating running - haven't actually attempted it yet but the thought is there.
I go to see the nutritionist on Tuesday and hopefully she will be pleased too. I think she will.
So - I am a happy camper right about now!
My weight today was 245. This is down from my highest known of 401(-156 lbs)(July'05) and my surgery weight of 368 (-123 lbs).
Sarah that is wonderful. You have done superb. You keep up the great work. It is awesome that you WANT to exercise, I have good intentions, but dont seem to have the time, it just slips away from me anymore.
I am so happy that you are able to get off your medications. That makes you feel so great. I am jumping up and down for you and we are going to have a for you.
WAY TO GO GIRL
