I feel like I eat too much
Guys, I feel like I eat too much food. Today for lunch I ate 2 tamales. For dinner last night I ate one egg, one piece of toast, 1 oz cheese, and a morningstar farms breakfast patty. I ate a regular chicken philly wrap from Charlies for lunch Sunday, leaving only 1/4 of the wrap uneaten. Do you eat this much? Think its too much? I'm not usually "full."
Hi Jenn - I think we are at a point in this whole process where we are beginning to be able to eat more. Some days I can eat quiite a bit at one sitting (I once ate 2/3 of a three egg omelette!!!) I don't think your descriptions of what you can eat is excessively large....I don't eat tamales so don't know what size they might be.
But now is the time when I think we have to be careful not to fall into the habit of wanting larger portions. Just my humble opinion....best wishes.
Bonnie
I usually have a pouch of oatmeal for breakfast with added raisins. Add protein powder. For lunch one of Amy's brand burrito. For dinner the other burrito. For snacks usually string cheese or 1 oz of lunch meat or 1/4 cup of peanuts, couple of dried apricots. If I eat out though I usually have a large Wendy's chilli. Which I think sometimes is too much because I've heard other people in my support group talk about just eating a small one. I can have a large one with crackers with no problem. It's also weird because I can eat egg salad made with two eggs but can only eat one hard-boiled egg. It's so hard to generalize though because one day can be totally different from the next.
I think that I'm not eating enough because I've been on a plateau for about a month. Am giving myself until after the holidays are over and then will seriously buckle down and get back on track with getting all of my protein in. Am doing well with the water - the protein is suffering.

Hi Jenn,
I just had a doctor's visit yesterday and told him about my concern that I am able to eat more than say, 4 months ago.
He told me that if I have any carbs in my diet(which I do), this would account for the ability to eat more. The reason he told me is because carbs just sit in the new pouch and don't move through as fast as protien.
As a result, the pouch can expand. His advice was to cut out carbs altogether and stick to protiens. I know this is going to be had for me because I am carving carbs now, but on the other hand, I don't want to undo the WLS and gain weight back on.
I don't know if this is the same problem for you, but felt I had to share.
