Hi Tami, Have you talked to a dietition? I'm thinking you are eating too many calories but then again everyone is different. I'm around 800-900 a day, mostly protein, and veggies and my dietition just last week said I could add a very little amount of fresh fruit like 1/4 of an apple or 1/4 of a banana and only once a day after I've eaten my protien. to be totally honest I don't do too much exercise, I'm trying to take the stairs at work, and I ride my horse once a week, walk once a week... so not much at all but I'm still losing a pound or two a week. Get yourself some sugarfree candy for those times you really need to have something. Dove has a wonderful sugarfree truffle type out and it sure tastes good to me. I know how hard it is to resist, today there are two boxes of chocolates sitting in our office area and I can smell it from my desk.... I want to eat it so bad, in fact I let myself have one piece today and it made me sleepy so I'm not going to do that again as hard as it will be. I don't think you are doomed, just distracted... go back to basics, like when you first had the surgery, protien...and water. Get your mind in the groove again. You can do this, you are so close to being at your goal and you have done so good so far, don't give in to old habits. I have faith in you! Darla

My doctor told me to increase my calories to 1000-1200 a day. I was getting between 600-800 calories. I did increase it a couple weeks ago and have started losing 3 lbs a week again. Of course I still have a long ways to go.

It was wierd because I had lost nothing in about a month. Then I started getting hungry and eating a little more and pow i start losing again. Also, Russel Stover's has some yummy sugar free candy that does the trick if you must have a candy fix. I haven't tried sweets because I am too scared, but the holiday candy all over the place makes it so hard because I love chocolate. Honestly, the only exercise I have had lately is walking the aisles of the store Christmas shopping. Does that count? I have done that way too much$$$$$. tee hee Kim m.

I would think you're fine. I mean, if you weigh, for example, 200 pounds and you're eating 1500 calories a day, then you will still lose atleast a pound a week because you're eating 500 calories less a day, which is 3500 calories in a week, and it takes either burning 3500 calories or eating 3500 calories less to lose 1 pound. I mean 1500 is enough to maintain a 150 pound weight. If you're shooting for 100 pounds, then 1000 calories a day would maintain a 100 pound weight. It's different for different people. The more muscle you have, the higher your Resting Metabolic Rate. I always knew mine was lower than usual. Mine is 1700 something a day and I DON'T weigh 170 pounds, LOL. What's funny is people have always thought I weighed 30 pounds less than what I actually weigh. And my RMR is for someone who weighs 30 pounds less than what I actually weigh, lol. The first month I was losing weight everyday. After that, I stopped. I don't lose weight for about 3 weeks, then after my cycle, I drop about 10-15 pounds in a week. It's weird, as if I just lose inches all month, and then my body catches up weight wise later on. But we are all different. Just keep eating right and moving that body and you'll get to goal eventually.
