My good news and then I need advice from y'all
I rarely weigh myself because depending on the outcome, I may get heavily bummed. But my last drs appt was in Nov and I felt that I had lost since and my next appt is not until the end of Jan. So last night I stepped on the scale and I weigh 188 lbs. So I lost 21lbs since my last appt. for a grand total of 138 lbs. I am 8 lbs from my drs goal for me and about 48 lbs from my personal goal. So I am very thrilled about the loss and also because I am wearing a size 16 pants today. It's been at least 17 years since I wore this size.
The part that I need advice on --- At night is when I get the munchies. I don't always give in and I don't eat anything close to what I did pre-surgery. I find that everything I put in my mouth makes me feel guilty and I try not to be my own worst enemy and dwell on it. I feel like ok, I goofed and now I'm going to move forward. Last night, I gave in to the urge to snack and felt quite full and uncomfortable after. Mind you, I exercise almost every day, whether it's the gym, walking home from work (2.78 miles by mapquest), or stretching exercises. How do y'all (said with my Noo Yawk accent) fight those urges to eat when you know it's not meal time?
Thanks and have a great day!
Sue
Congratulations, Sue! That's awesome that you are so close to your goal. The whole size thing is getting me too.. I've not worn a size 14 pants since I was 14 years old. Keep up the great work!!
As far as "munching", I just don't. I have my usual snack in the early afternoon then again in the evening, usually around 8pm. And it's either a protein bar if I've not gotten enough protein throughout the day, some nuts, a piece of fruit, or a sylvester stallone sugar free pudding (which has 20 grams of protein!), again if I need more protein. Other than that, I refuse to graze or munch. If I get the urge, I drink more water, suck on a sugar-free candy or chew a piece of sugar-free gum.
Thanks for your response and the congrats!
Maybe what I am thinking of as munching is a snack. I don't graze. I normally eat breakfast when I get up which is about 4:30 or 5 in the AM, I have a snack about 8 or 9 after the gym, lunch is between 1 and 2 and dinner is about 6. Today I had a small cup of popcorn about 11, but on any given day I rarely eat more than my meals and one snack. I also try to make sure that I get in most of my water between my snack and lunch so that I don't have to hustle the rest of the day to try and fit it in. When I do have something at night, it's usually something like mini-rice cakes or nuts. It just feels like munching to me, but so far, I've done really well, so maybe I have to cut myself some slack.
Good for you on the 14s!
Sue
