I have an addiction.....

Hi , my name is Lisa and I'm a candleholic! Seriously! I'm in a goofy mood tonight and as I sit here in candlelight, surrounded by the yummy scents of chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla - I decided I am addicted to candles. No doubt I could have worse addictions but am I alone in this, or are there others who'd like to join me in finding a 12 step program? I've been addicted for many years but about a year ago I came upon a website and found some of the most incredibly yummy candles that I have ever in my life smelled. The candles are http://pacificacandles.com/. They do have them in stores but they're cheaper online, and though they're not "cheap", they really do outlast any other candle I've ever found. I'm still burning a 3x6 pillar that I got 8 months ago. My favorite is the Mexican Cocoa and second favorite is Bourbon Island Vanilla. Here's the description of each, and the makers of these yummy (good enough to eat) candles are right-on with their descriptions: Mexican Cocoa At the base of this enchanting blend is the dark, rich scent of Mexican chocolate. Rounded out with mild notes of bitter almond, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Traditionally chocolate has symbolized the ability of lovers to remain sweet to each other. Cocoa ignites passion and evokes notions of indulgence, temptation, and pleasure. Luxury, romance, and happiness are all associated with chocolate, as well. Although chocolate may not actually be a true aphrodisiac, it does contain theobromine, a mild relative of caffeine and a component found in some tranquilizers. Theobromide gives chocolate the unique ability to simultaneously pick you up and calm you down. In addition, it is said that eating chocolate releases a chemical in your body similar to the one produced when you fall in love. Aztec Indian legend held that cacao seeds originated in Paradise and that wisdom and power came from eating the fruit of the cacao tree. In Oaxaca, every family has their own recipe for chocolate, which is consumed at celebrations. Bourbon Island Vanilla Native Mexican Vanilla known for its spicy and balsamic notes mixed with the finest smoky vanilla from the volcanic Bourbon Islands. Sweet, warm vanilla is linked to feelings of love, comfort, home and the holidays. The flavor by which all others are measured, vanilla brings to life any other flavor it blesses. It can be found in nearly every sweet treat we adore. Native Mexican legends claim the vanilla flower to be the incarnation of a lovesick princess who died trying to be with her lover. The blossom is her peaceful offering to the living. Vanilla is claimed to be an aphrodisiac, as well as a cure for broken hearts.

Hey - I'll have to check those out. I'm a Yankee Candle addict myself....but I'm always open to new ideas for satisjying my craving for scents. And those sound just yummy. My husband is a boring blueberry addict. Nothing else will do for him so I'll have to continue with my Yankee Candle connection since it has become very hard to find a good smelling blueberry. But I like to venture onto the wild side and will check out pacificacandles.com for sure. Bonnie

Lisa, The description themselves make for a great romance novel read! I am an oil burner person myself but I think you hit the nail on the head....surrounding ourselves with pleasureable scents is a great way to indulge. If you find that 12 step program....let me know. It is important to recognize our addictions....but since I am in the denial stage....I KNOW I don't have any addictions....(sunflower seeds) (grin) Take Care! Cyndi
