10 months out!!
I am 10 months out and I am so happy to have had this surgery. I have lost a total of 111.5 pounds since the first of April. I feel so good. I have only lost 1 pound in the last week however that size 18 jeans I bought were really hard to pull over the tummy but now much easier to get on. I set my goal to be under 200 by the New Year, and hope to make it. If I don't get with the exercise, it won't happen. Gotta work harder and harder at getting to the gym. Hope everyone else is doing well and has MERRY CHRISTMAS! Julia
Hi Julia!
When I read your post, you had me counting the months . We're only 8 months out. Right? 111.5 pounds is great, but 111.5 pounds in only 8 months is AWESOME! I know what you mean about the exercising. I only joined a gym two weeks ago. In November I didn't lose for 3 weeks. After my first week at the gym, I lost 5 pounds so I KNOW it makes a difference. I only wished it hadn't of taken me so long to get there. But I'm aiming for 4 days (3 at the minimum) a week.
You'll make your goal! WE CAN DO IT!
Glad someone can count---and I am a college graduate!! It just continues to befuddle my mind---that we are losing weight the way we are. Last year at this time is when I just started thinking about WLS and what a thought that was!! On January 4th, I think, I went to an educational meeting by the M.D. I had been researching. Funny how the advertisement for this meeting came just when I had thought---"I have to check this guy out" We are about a 3 hour drive from where he practices and I don't think he has had another seminar here. An OMEN I think!! (did I spell that right?) Anyway, however it happened for all of us, I think most of us agree that it was a great life changing decision we made EIGHT MONTHS AG0!!!
I have been going to Curves since June, my SECOND MONTH OUT---but am not as good as I should be about going. I would be happy if I made it there 3 times a week. I know my weight has slowed too and in November is when I slowed down with the gym and must get back there. We can do it--you bet!! Julia
I had my surgery the same day as you. I've lost 95 pounds, with only 15 left to go to reach my surgeon's goal for me. I'm now at 170 pounds and a size 10.
My goal was to have lost 100 pounds by the new year, but with Christmas and such coming up... We'll see.
I am probably going to be having my gallbladder removed in the next few weeks/months though, so that will accelerate some loss as well.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Wow Karli, you are close to goal. Wish I were that close and a size 10!! Christmas is a problem for me, not because of what I eat but lack of time to plan what I eat. I must get back into that habit soon. Too bad about your Gallbladder. I had mine removed 3 years ago this coming February. Glad I don't have to do it now. Julia
Thanks Bill, 4 pounds from being under 200 sounds great. Keep up the good work and you could be there in a week or two. I have 10.5 more pounds to be at 200 and that has stayed the same for a week now. I must kick in into gear to even come close to meeting my goal of being under 200 by New Years Day. Julia
