Hi everyone! Long time no "see" I've been super busy, and the kids have needed to have the computer more than I, so I haven't been around in a bit. How's everyone holding out? I gotta tell you...I'm struggling. I've lost 110lbs (yay!) but I know I could do so much better. I've been eating poorly, not drinking enough water and this past week the exercise has been lacking (too dang cold outside). I need some encouragement to get my butt in gear again. I love the Christmas season...I love everything about it...including the food. I'm planning on baking and cooking and making candy (all to give away of course). I've been "nibbling" on candy and sweets at work...because they're EVERYWHERE!! I need to QUIT! Help! I would like to lose 5 more pounds by Christmas if I can.

Why dont you make some sugar free candy and or cookies, that you can eat, that will help some. And as long as you are getting 5 minutes of some kind of exercise that is still exercising. Well you have the urge to grab some sweets at work grab a water instead, maybe that will help. I love the hoildays to. I bought some sugar and brown sugar that are sugar replaces from BariatricEating.com. They also have recipes on there for alot of good holiday foods. I am going to try the peanut brittles this weekend. Hope it works, lol. Hang in there you will be okay. We will all pray for you. Take care and God Bless. Kathleen for Mo

Hi Terri! Congratulations on 110 pounds! That's awesome! I can't say that I've been eating poorly but I'm definitely not getting enough liquids. I try to make that my number one daily goal, though I often fall short. I love the holidays too and the food, BUT, try to find other things about the holidays that you love and focus on them rather than the food. I have clients and co-workers bringing in holiday cookies, candies, etc. But I really haven't been tempted with the goodies like in the past. When I see a plate of yummy cookies or candy, I see it covered with shattered glass that would cut my mouth and insides if I took a bite And when I've baked cookies and candy, I bite my tongue so I don't forget and lick my fingers or the spoon. Or the BOWL. This is all so new to all of us. We just have to do the best we can. Actually, my mouth was watering the other day looking at a box of cherrie chocolates (i used to eat the whole box). I thought about putting it in my mouth just for the taste and spit it out but it's the BITE/CRUNCH into the chocolate and cherry that I so loved. So I ate part of a protein bar instead and pretended the cherry and creme was oozing out. I think it's just the old munching habits/behavior that pops up but we have to remind ourselves that it's just not worth it anymore. Remember -- no food is as good as being thin feels! (or something like that.lol) Just think how many people are going to regret these sugary days after the holidays are over. They'll be making New Year's resolutions to just lose the holiday weight they gained. Stay away from the goodies and you'll lose that 5 pounds!
