Would you let me know if you think it's ok? It is very difficult to write about me. Thank you in advance. Carol

Its great! You know, I don't understand the purpose of the new profile system. the "my friends" section is really useless to me. I think Obesityhelp mimicked myspace.com. I like the pictures section because I take a monthly progression picture and its really neat to see where I have come from. I like posting to a profile because I have documented this whole process and every once in a while, I'll go back and read about all I went through to get this surgery I wanted so badly. Also, I like to think it helps others. I have found so many profiles inspiring especially before I had surgery. I have had several comments made about my profile too. It also gives me something to do at work too LOL Take care!

Carol, there is nothing wrong with your profile. It is yours and you can do what you like and how you like it. It is just fine. Your friend and surgery buddie, Kathleen G from MO

Carol, I think your profile is fine! It was also hard for me to write about myself when I first made my profile. It was pretty much blank for a long time until I could put into words how I felt about this surgery. I actually didn't start journaling until I had my surgery date scheduled. What I like about the profile entries is that there are so many of you that I bonded with long before our surgery dates in April, I have their profiles saved in my favorites and go to them from time to time just to see how everyone is doing. Since I didn't come to the message board for awhile, I could still keep tabs on my buddies . But not everyone updates their profile, and I've noticed that a lot of people participate regularly on the April board and that's where they update their progress. Personally, speaking for myself, it's just easier to update my profile once in awhile and add new photos. I can honestly say that if it weren't for the profiles and April board and meeting so many of you wonderful people, I'm not sure I would have gotten through that whole pre-op time on my own. There's so much support and encouragement with, and from, all of you. As far as the "friend" thing, I don't care for the new profile layout so I haven't converted to it. I think the idea with the "friend" option is so that when you are on your profile (the new one), everything is more accessible on that one page. It's just the click of a button to send a message to someone, rather than going from OH to and from your email. And if I did have the new profile format, the friends that I would probably have on mine are the people that I most corresponded with early on in this journey on OH. I've not been very good at keeping in touch with all of you over the past few months but it certainly doesn't mean that I wasn't thinking about everyone and checking up on your profile updates. So, Carol, I'm glad you did yours so I can check on you now and then . Hugs, Lisa V
