What little thing, that's actually a big thing......
It's amazing how some little things, that might seem trivial to others, are huge to me. Like tying my shoes, painting my toenails, having an easier time on the toilet, wearing pants again that have zippers rather than having all elastic waste pants, having a neck , etc.
But one thing that I catch myself doing ALL day is crossing and uncrossing my legs, just because I can. I mean, it's been YEARS since I could cross my legs. When I first did again, I called my daughter and shouted, "I CAN CROSS MY LEG". She laughed and said, "What?". Well, she's never not been able to cross her legs, so to her it wasn't a big deal, though she was happy for ME.lol. She said it's not good for circulation to cross your legs for very long and I told her I don't do it for very long because I go back and forth from one leg to the other, again... just because I CAN .
So what's the little thing that is actually a big thing, for YOU?
Lisa - good question!
I am anxiously awaiting the day that I can cross my legs. I'm on the short side (5'2) so my upper legs are shorter and my belly is still in the way. I think if I was taller I'd be able to cross already.
Tying my shoes, having a neck, taking care of hygiene, feeling my collarbones, wrist bones, elbows, knees and ribs, zipper pants, fitted shirts, bracelets, rings, necklaces - these have all been truly exciting and amazing to realize.
Fun - fun - fun - every day is a new discovery - I just hate the days when I discover the scale has stopped moving or has even moved up

I'm 5'4 and know what you mean. It took awhile but man, it's like having brand new legs! lol The bone thing for me too. Sarah, when you have those days when the scale doesn't move, look harder at your collarbones . In November my scale didn't move for 3 WEEKS but during that time, I went down another pant size. So try not to fret the scale .
Have a great weekend!
This stuff is too funny....
My husband commented to me a few days ago that he hadn't seen me cross my legs in a long time!
One night when I was exercising on the floor, I checked and I could sit Indian style. Been years since I could do that.
My 18 yr old son works at my office a few hours a week and when he came in the other day, I kept pointing to my collar bone and going "can you see it, can you see it?" He said (with a pained look on his face) - "yes, Mother, I can see you have a clavicle."
The funny thing that I learned when I lost enough weight was that I had to buy pants in petite length. I was wearing sweats for so long that I forgot that you have to consider length when buying pants (I bought some stuff off Ebay so did not pre try on.)
I also still find it weird when I hold up a pair of pants, look at the waist and think, nah, it will never fit, and it does.

I'd forgotten what indian style was! at your son. I told my son to feel my hip bone one day and he looked at me funny then walked out of the room like I was . Sue, I did the pant thing the other day too. I was all excited about going to visit my daughter for Thanksgiving because she'd not seen me since surgery and went shopping for new clothes. I guess I was between sizes because 16's had gotten too baggy in the butt/legs & 14's were just too tight. But I found some Lee stretch jeans in a size 14 that I thought I'd try on. I looked at them and said there's NO way I will fit in them and went in the fitting room fearing I was going to be disappointed. I put one leg in, so far, the other leg, still , this may work after all. And when I pulled them on and was able to ZIP AND BUTTON without laying on the bed using a wire hanger (teenage flashback !!), I had my own little right there in the fitting room.
It's like we're learning/discovering all of these things all over again but truly appreciating the "little" things this time around.
Have a great weekend!
For me it is all the changes, the collarbone, I actually have a neck. The difference in my pants and shirt size. We I go to buy something new I have to pick up difference sizes because I am not sure what size to get. I can wear a size 16 in some pants, and 18 in jeans. I cant even remember when I worn that size last. I can cross my legs, well my left one, I have arthiritis really bad in my right hip, so it is hard, but I can move it better than I could before the weight lost. My bras are all getting to large on me, and I actually can see my waist line in my clothes now. I still amazed at all I can do without being out of breath or overly tired now. I have so much more energy that some night I cant even sleep because I am not tired.
