The meaning of 'Plateau'

As long as you are losing inches, you have not hit a plateau. A true plateau is when you are losing no weight or inches. This is normal!! Your body needs time to catch up. You are losing inches because you are building muscle and your body is shifting things around. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you may even gain a pound or a few pounds for that matter. This is OK! Don't worry about it! Just keep doing everything that is in your program and you will be fine! The weight will come off again. I find that when I go into 'flat' mode, I end up with my clothes starting to get too big again. What I usually do to jump start the weight loss again, is increase the amount of food that I am eating for a day or two. It seems to make my body think that it can relax and do it's thing again. Once it starts losing again, I go back to eating what I was before it hit. Seems to work for me! Good luck! Cindee
