I had hernia surgery...
I had a four foot petersons hernia last week. I am telling you so you all may be able to tell if you are in danger...mine was at a point where I was damn lucky to have made it to the Doc. I felt strong gas pains, almost like after you have the surgery pains..that were worse when I ate or even drank. Pay attention to your body, pain means something is wrong!! I am ok today, just recovering, still weak but very very grateful.
Glad to hear you're doing good now! I too understand how important it is to pay attention to your body. I had severe pains in my upper right abdomen for a day and a half last week. They finally went away friday evening and chose not to call the doctor b/c I didn't want to sound like a hypochondriac or an overly paranoid patient...but I had a brief few minutes of pain yesterday morning so I called the surgeon. He sent me for an ultrasound which uncovered a large gallstone in the bile duct of my gallbladder. I'm tentatively scheduled for surgery on Dec. 1st. Though this isn't very life threatening, it does prove that your body does send signals in the form of pain when something is wrong. Don't ignore any kind of pain. Just thought I'd share.
