I thought I posted this last night, but guess not! It disappaered! Yesterday I ate a whole soft taco and 1/2 pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. It took about 30 minutes to eat it, I did not feel stuffed...but was full. I am surprised I guess because I have been living on soups and salads for over three months because it was comforting food when meats and such felt too heavy on my tummy! I feel that I can try more things now...yippee! Can you all eat a whole taco? I hope that I am not the only one...What do you eat these days? Amy 233/140/127 (under goal...yippee!!)

Hi Amy-I can just about eat a whole bean burrito. I do squish alot of the inside into my mouth. Sometimes the tortilla is not friendly to my pouch. I know this is not a great choice but on my Barix list it says its ok. Sharon

I find I can eat about a cup+ of food now. I am still making good choices....salad, chicken, turkey, soup. Speaking of soup, I can eat a large soup from Boston Market, juice and all. That scares the hell out of me. However, I have not eaten taco bell or any other fast food for that matter. Fast food is the devil and that is what got me into this fine mess to begin with...so I would just assume stay away from MOST FAST FOOD. I will make healthy fast food choices like Boston Market. I get the kid's turkey meal with mashed potato, no gravy and I throw away the corn bread to the birds. I also enjoy their soup on a cold day. I tried that boca burger at Burger King. GAG ME! It tasted like sh@t. hahahaha We don't eat out much anymore. Friday's we have take-in from the Chinese rest., as my daughter is Chinese and enjoys some traditional dishes still. I usually eat some chicken and veggies, maybe a little rice, but end up throwing 85% of it out because I just can't eat it. Shelly

Amy, I have been surprised by how much I could eat even from the beginning, It was never a contest to see how much, just observe what seemed to fill me up. the first week after surgery i was able to eat 1/3 of a cup. Now I can eat at least one cup up to 1.5 cups of a medium soup . Diced checken or fish - about 1 cup i can eat about 2.5 cups of salad when there is not too much dense protein in it. I do usuall limit soup and chili to about a cup ( satisfied but not necessarily full). I count protein grams and calories, I shoot for 85 or more grams of protein and about 1000 calories a day . I try to include at least one good source of calcium, 1 serving of fruit and at least 1 serving of vegies a day ( 1/2 cup of fruit or vegie) . I also make sure I get a good sized salad at least every other day to keep constipation at bay. I eat at east 5 times a day. Also do a minimum of 64 oz of water. My numbers have been good from blood work, my energy level is good and I feel good. Since I needed to loose at least 250 pounds and really am shooting for slightly over 300 - my plan needed to be livable and maintainable long term and this is working for me. I really do not have any food that are off limits ( tolerate all well) I have not vomited one time and does not look like I will dump - I will always have to controll the number of calories I take in because, even now - I could take in enough to begin gaining. I just have to remember- they never promised me paridice, just a chance at a better life if I wanted it. Still very happy with my decisin and progress! Cathy

I usually get burrito from taco bell and eat everything but the tortilla and rice. i can't eat the whole thing yet, but almost all of it. The good thing is: I don't feel bad about tossing away the rest of the burrito!
