Last week I got brave and packed up all of my too big clothes (some I was still wearing) and gave them away. THEN I realized I did not have much to wear. I went shopping yesterday and bought 2 pairs of pants size 20. Yeh---down from a 30! I bought several blouses too, so should be set for awhile.

That is so exciting and I'm right there with you. Cleaned out my closet of everything from size 30 to size 22, plus two pair of slacks in size 20 that were almost new but getting baggy. Bought 2 new blouses in size 18 and some xl pants, guess thats equal to an 18 which is what I splurged on in a pair of jeans. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO to you, and a ((((((((((((big hug)))))))))))) along with congratulations! God bless, Carol

Darn Carol, I could have used your 20's. Yes it is great. I went to a resale place called Value Village and found 3 shirts, one for $9.99 and two for $4.99. Could not find pants there so hit K-mart and found 2 pairs of pants and two more shirts. That should get me through 2 to 3 months. Of course, I wish they would be way too big in one month. They say you lose one size for every 10 pounds but for me it is about 15 pounds. Julia

Why did I feel so bad to give away my clothes I am a very generous person and willing to do anything 4 anyone but I felt so bad giving away my clothes I asked the lord to forgive me cause thats not me at all I lost 70 pounds about 7 yrs ago before I had my daughter and kept all my clothes and gained all the weight back and then some so this time I said no I was giving every thing away but I could have cryed why?? I think it was because I had so many nice things I am a major shopaholic and I had 12 coats 4 of which still had the tag on them leather as well and dress clothes omg but I am slowly getting over it I feel so ashame to admit this but that is the first step to recovery I went from a size 22/24 to now a very comfortable 10 w/ room so I guess it is the grace of God so I should rejoice and let it go or do I need therapy??? 265/160/140???

Lynn, I too, had some things I really liked and that is why I kept wearing them even though they were getting way too big. I also have lost weight in the past and kept everything because I guess I thought I would need them again---and I did. Now I am going to get rid of them as I lose weight because I am going to be positive that this time it is going to be a permanent loss. Congratulations on being a size 10 and doing so well. You deserve new clothes! Julia

I work in a plus size woman's store so I seem to be spending way to much money to replace the clothes I am giving away. I also, had a hard time giving away some of the items. I had some really nice things I had just purchased. I have decided to take a lot of my clothes that only last me about a month or two to a place called Fablous Finds. They sale them and I get 50 percent of the price. Some of what was going on with me was that old feeling that I might need them again. Some of it was just knowing how much I had spend on the items. One thing I am very greatful for is that i get a 40 percent discount on everything I purchase were I work. Next, time I make purchases I will not be able to buy anything there. However, they have a sister store which has my new sizes and I get the same discount there. My sizes are all over the place. I were between a 16 and 24 depending on the style. Due to my new body shape I were stuff cut differently. I can now wear shorter jackets and tops. Cuffs on pants look great on me. Patterns look awful. Flowing things now make me look fatter not thinner. It is a whole new world of shoping and at times it just seems like to much. Even my husband has learn which styles add to my over all look and which ones just don't work for me anymore. Bras are another area which makes me crazy. I fit people for bras were I work so I know how important it is to wear the correct size. Still I HATE spending money on good bras that I will only wear for a month or so. Bra sales make my day!!! So if anyone needs to know how to fit them self. Measure right under your breast. then around your breast. The number under your breast is the number. Then say you are 40 under the breast and 46 around the entire breast (with a bra on) your bra size would be 40 DDD. You add a letter for every number above. 41 would be A, 42 b, 43 c, 44 D, 45 DD, 46 DDD. The cup could be off by a size on different styles. So your bra size would be 40 DDD but you should also try on 40 DD. Now if I could just figure out how to find the right size panties! Anyway, it is interesting , exciting and scary to be changing so quickly. Terrie 364/261/ goal 165

Hi Terrie, I agree that old feeling of "I might need them again" is hard to get out of my mind. I don't want to spend a lot on clothes I will only need for a short time, so makes it hard. I too, look different now---I actually have a waist starting to show! The tummy is shrinking too but wi**** were shrinking more. Your bra tips sound great but what do you do when you have a difference of 9 inches!! The last bra I bought was a 42 DDD and it seems to work. I have way too much fat on my sides under the armpits. Hope to have that taken care of one day. I will need to be thinking of new panties soon too. You are so right about this being interesting, exciting and scary to be changing so fast but isn't it great we can do that. Julia

I had my surgery on April 18th, so instead of packing away my winter size 26 clothes at the season change, I got rid of them all. I was joking around that by next winter I would be either skinny or nekkid. Well, I forgot the one important other option - skinny, AND NEKKID!! When it suddenly got cold around here (Philly, PA area) a few weeks ago, I desperately needed to go out and find some long-sleeved shirts! Have fun shopping those thrift stores, Linda

Linda, you are funny. I do know what you mean though as I had a panic attack after I gave my old clothes away and remembered I had to go to work at the end of the weekend and had very little left to wear! I also took a really hard look at my legs today, which compared to the rest of me, have never been really huge, and they are getting darned ugly!! No nekkid for me! Julia
