What are you all eating now at 6 mths post-op...
protein shake for breakfast
Lunch is a South Beach frozen meal, I usually only eat the meat and a little bit of veggies. Or tuna salad lunch packs, or leftover chili, today it is a few tablespoons of hummus and a pita wedge and 2 dolmades (grape leaf wraps)
Snack is a protein bar/shake
Dinner is usually a chicken breast or 4 oz of pork/turkey and 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes or green beans, or a street taco/taco al carbon if I am out
then a protein shake for dessert
Fruit and cheese maybe for breakfast or eggs and ham.
Piece of fruit for a snack
I go to a school with a cafeteria so I get a meat and two veggies, or beans with a little rice and two veggies.
Supper, I just concentrate on eating protein first and 1-2 veggies a bite of whatever the carb is.
Snack 1% milk or cheese with some fruit or V8 and whole wheat triscuits.
OK now I feel like I am eatting too much!

I most always have low fat cottage cheese for breakfast
Lunch is 1/2 cup tuna with 3 small squares of saltine crackers crushed up in the tuna or I have 1/2 cup refried beans with 1 string cheese. Sometimes I will have 1/2 of a small Wendy's chilli. I also eat left over shrimp, 5 medium or left over fish usually Halibut or salmon 1/2 cup.
I generally do not snack in the daytime but if I do I will have a few nuts, peanuts or almonds. My surgeon said I might get hungry as I was only taking in 600 to 700 calories daily and adding the nuts would add about 100 calories and help. I do not measure them by weight, as he demonstrated what the amt. should look like. It is about the size of 1/2 or less of an individual pack of peanuts from a vending machine.
For dinner, I like to have some of the same as I listed above but have also had scallops or chicken---3 ounces. I try to have a little vegetable and usually it is yellow squash which I cook in a fry pan with no stick spray, water and then spray with fake butter spray. I should eat more vegetables and I may not get so constipated!! I do not eat much fruit. Probably should.
Evening snack is generally unjury chocolate protein in 8 oz. of soy milk. I have been putting in a teaspoon of splenda and some vanilla, add a little crushed ice and about an ounce of water, whip it in my magic bullet and it is great. I really have not had much of a plateau except about the 3 to 4 week mark. I average about 3 to 3.5 pounds a week, sometimes less, sometimes more.
O.K. As usual I have gone on and on. Julia
I just went to see my nurtianist(sp) and found out that I wasn't eating enough. I had to up my food intake. So today for breakfast I had a 6oz yogurt and a banana, snack was 11 pretzals crisps and 1/4 cup of crab dip, lunch was about 3 oz of chicken and 2 oz of raw carrots, snack was the same as morning, dinner was 1/2 mexican pizza from taco bell.
I was told last week that I wasn't getting in enough veggies and fruit, so I am trying to add them back into my diet. I started drinking V8 juice again as one of my veggies.
Have a great day,
Deanna
Well, I have a very plain menu:
Breakfast: 6oz of isopure choc (25 Proteins)
vitamins
decaf coffee w/SF vanilla creamer
snack: 1/4 - 1/2 LF cottage cheese w/SF blackberry jam
lunch: another 6oz shake and maybe one slice of chicken meat from deli
Dinner: varies but usually not more than 1-2oz of meat (still trouble with eating meat)
1/4 cup of vegie very rarely do I have carbs but sometimes will eat 1/2 of tiny red potato
snack: another 6oz shake
then SF popsicle
all three shakes equal 230 cal and 75 proteins

I find myself skipping breakfeast, which is a big change in my life. That used to be my big meal of the day.
Now it's lunch, which tends to be meat, normally 4 to 7 oz. Sometimes fruit as a snack.
Dinner is again meat and a veggie. Sugar free ice pops about 1 or 2 hours after that. Very little snacking (if any) during the day.
