Unfortunately, you can already see by the previews, she intends to trash us and our decision. I guess there is a reason I never got into watching her Cathy

She just P*ed off that she YoYos in her weight and people like us with the courage to have WLS here keeping our wieght off. I hate the media when they use the airways as their personal sopabox without the chance that someone with an oposing opinion can speak their mind. OK, end of rant.

What really gets me is the message board (Oprah's) on this topic. all of the people with super-scary complications are coming out of the woodwork to share how horrible their lives are post-op. And the "do it the natural way and I'l respect you" people are posting too. There aren't enough posts from healthy post-ops saying: "Look. I'm a post-op and I have learned how to eat healthy, exercise regularly, and stop comforting myself and my low self-esteem with food. Now that I have lost a bunch of weight because of wls, I CAN exercise, I CAN feel good enough about myself to do other things besides eat. I personally didn't have a food addiction pre-op and I don't have any addictions now. But if you are someone who is addicted to things (including food), what makes you think that having wls will cure that? If you can't be addicted to food because you have a tiny pouch, you'll be addicted to other things that give you a temporary high. There are complications possible, sure. LIFE has complications, man! What makes you think that it is safer to live life morbidly obese than it is to live it with wls complications? You're just as likely to have an appendectomy than you are to get your gallbladder out post-op. Surgery is the ONLY thing that will keep weight off of 80% of people who try it. Only 20% of morbidly obese dieters will succeed in keeping their weight off. Do your research! Look it up! Weight loss surgery is one of the ONLY things in my life I've been successful at because now, I believe in myself and feel worthy enough to have a good life. I am the only person who can make this decision for myself. And, god, I am so thankful that I had the courage to do it."
