Birth Control

For those of you who need/use it, what do you use? I'm on the Nuva ring. While I love it (not thinking about bc for 3 weeks? awesome!) I am worried about the effectiveness of it. I know 2-3 people from a wls message board who got pregnant while on the ring. Freak out much?

I had WLS in April and Mirena IUD inserted in July. So far, so good.

I say..."Get the old man fixed"!!! hahahaha I did!!!! The funny part...our child is adopted from China! I have never wanted to give birth to my own children!

Eeek! Don't say that! :-l I have been using the Nuvaring since 1 month post op. So far, so good! The NR has a failure rate very close to the pill, which is very low so I felt good about that.

I'm of no help either...I had surgery 4/4/06 and conceived 5/19. We were VERY careful, even bought (and used! ) our first condoms in the 9 years we've been married (after being on the Pill for 5 years), then when I was 10 pounds under the weight limit for the patch ('cuz we didn't want to take any chances-HA!) we used that. In fact, the reason I was at the doctor the day we found out was to have an IUD put in. When the nurse came in and said I was positive, I looked at her confused and asked "Positive for what???" I felt like such a moron saying "I just don't know how this happened?!?" (Also, we did infertility treatments for 3 years to have our son who is now 5.)
