My wow moment today!
My younger son goes to a boys' high school in Manhattan. Every Sept., they have a back to school day where the parents go and sit in on lectures and in an assembly line fashion get to meet the teachers and hear about what the boys will be studying.
Anywho, in the individual classrooms, they have those desks that have the chair attached and for the past two years, they've been my personal enemy. I couldn't really fit into them and you can't sit your butt on the chair if you can't fit your stomach in the space between the chair and the desktop. If you do happen to wedge yourself in, trying to get back out is a whole nuther challenge. You almost stand up with the desk attached to your body.
So knowing that I was going to the back to school day, I was sort of looking forward to seeing how these desks would challenge me this year. I had a brief moment where I had to force my stomach into the space, but when I sat down, not only was I not tightly wedged, but there was space between my body and the desktop. When I went to get out, I didn't need a crowbar, I just slipped out and voila, I could stand without any furniture attached to me!
It's one of those dumb things that makes me happy (like walking through the metal posts at the supermarket - you know, where the parking lot is, I guess to keep the carts in the market's domain - walking through without turning to the side or without touching on the sides.)
Just wanted to share.
Sue
Thank you for all the congrats!
My husband kept pointing out to me how well I fit in the seats, mostly because I had told him about seeing if I could fit this year!
One of my next things will be seeing if I can do without an extender when I go visit my brother in Florida in a few months.
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful Monday!
Sue
