insecure women

Someone I used to work with and haven't seen in a while just came up to me, said I looked good and then compared me to someone else in my office who has also lost weight. She then added "but she hasn't had surgery has she"? Did this imply something? I guess it was the way she said it. It kinda pissed me off so here I am venting about it It sounded as if she was saying that the other girl was to be commended for losing weight by NOT having surgery. Maybe it was a dig because this person has obviously gained some weight since I saw her last and she wasn't feeling too good about herself?????? I don't know - why do people have to be so mean? Thanks for letting me vent. Maybe I'm just too sensitive today Denise

and that is a perfect example why I choose not to tell my office!

Don't let it get you down. People are never going to change...so we can't sweat it. I just had a co-worker come up to me and say "you are looking better, not as disgusting...." Meaning what?! I am still disgusting? LOL! I am going to assume that he didn't mean it as offensively as it came out, but there is no way to be sure. And I of course had to talk about it to a couple friends because it was just so funny. Take care, Ginny

Hey Denise.......Will before I had this surgery I was one of those women you are talking about. I had lost a hundred pounds and promise I would never take a surgery to lose weight. Everytime I saw a few of my friends who had taken the surgery. I would say I did mine the right way knowing inside that I was jealous and gaining all of my weight back. What I did not realize is that it take courage, faith, and strength to take this surgery. It was one of this hardest decision to make in my life. When people talk down on you just politely say I did this FOR ME and not to prove anything to anyone.( Smile ) and I bet you look better than the person that did it natural...lol 351/259/190

Wow this is a post that hits home....A few weeks before my surery I had a friend tell me to turn around so she could look at me- she kicked me in the butt. I was like what the (#)$ was that for? She said I needed my A** kicked for even thinking about this surgery and I was crazy for doing it! I could do this, I could do that, this from a girl who did lose a lot of weight on WW but has put at least 1/2 back on. I realize some people don't know a lot about it and are scared of the what if's but come on use your common sense and watch what comes out of your mouth and be human!
