Also dried fruit.Only a few though .Getting used to this new sytem has me in slow motion.I am 60 and this was my second surgery for this .Before it was a older procedure that they do not do this day and age.I had a ring and staples but no by pass...
Good Luck Lin
Emily,
I just tried some salmon patties this evening and they truned out pretty good .
My hubby was even pretty enthused and said that the reciepe was a keeper. I just served it with some peas and some fresh sliced tomato for him.
I sent it to a frined so i'll just copy it here - Salmon has 12 Gm of protein per 1/4 cup
OVEN SALMON PATTIES
Preheat oven to 375.
prepare a flat baking sheet by spraying liberally with non-stick spray ( I used canola spray)
Open 1 can of salmon ( I used pink)
Add 1 slightly beaten egg ( or 1/4 cup egg beaters - I used liquid egg whites from the dairy case)
1/4 cup corn flake crumbs ( I buy corn flakes when on sale and use my "magic bullet" to make the crumbs really fine)
1 pinch each of salt ,pepper, and garlic powder (to taste)
mix well - mixture will be pretty wet.
take about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of salmon mixture and roll into a ball.
roll "ball" in additional corn flake crumbs to coat.
press coated "ball" onto cookie sheet into patty form- repeat until entire salmon mixture is in patties on baking sheet.
spray top of patties liberally with cooking spray
place into oven and bake for 15 minutes - remove from oven and turn patties ( I used 2 spatulas to do this)
Return to oven and bake another 10-12 minutes
I'm going to be trying some stuffed Manicotti (sp) and a skinny/high pretein version of chicken tetrizini ( sp) soon and I'll pass them on if they turn out well.
I also just made a big batch of Itallian Wedding Soup - It has chicken, mini meat balls, egg and parm cheese - was pretty yummy --- it does have spinach in it so not everyone likes it but it has been a real hit also.
I am finding that boosting my protein is also boosting my loss
i am at 99 pounds off in just under 5 months. I have been VERY sporatic since week 6.
That's my 2 cents for now

I know exactly what you mean about the snack monster, Emily! Mine is back and has brought a few of his pals
It seems all I'm thinking lately is protein, protein, protein. I've talked to a lot of people who when they are stalled or slowing down to a snails pace with loss is that it picks up once they concentrate on protein and liquids.
So, I usually have a protein shake for breakfast (18g in one scoop) which I make with milk, frozen bananas and peanut butter - yum! Then for the rest of the day I usually have some variation of the following: milk, cheese, turkey, chicken, yogurt, tuna, cottage cheese and sometimes popcorn. My surgeon stresses no snacking in between meals, so I try VERY hard to stick to water and raspberry ice Crystal Lite, but it's so hard some days. I also find it hard to incorporate fruits and veggies, but what can I say - I'm still learning!
Good luck and great job to all of you!

I saw a recipe on tv tonight... It was a kraft foods commerical and the sound was down so I only got the visual.
They took chicken with bone in and drizzled italian dressing over it and then sprinkled parmesan cheese generously over top. It look like they melted some mozzerella cheese over it the last couple of minutes.
They showed a kraft cookbook (like a magazine) you could get online. I would imagine they would have a link to it on the kraft website.
I think I will be trying this soon!!! It looked so yummy!!!!
