Skinny Day...turned into a Dr. VENT
I am having a "skinny" day today. I'm wearing my new size 12 jeans, my size L t-shirt and I'm feeling good about myself. And I'm sure that once all this bloat and water weight is gone, I'll feel even better!
Yesterday was not a "skinny" day. The nurse at the Dr.s office was in a bad mood and took it out on me. But that's a whole diffrent story. Her scale read 7 pounds more than my scale. When I mentioned this, she could have said:
-you're wearing clothes
- you've already had breakfast
- you're on your period
or any combination of these things a polite person would say, right? You know what she said? "Well, we calibrate ours once a month." That was it! Grrr
And then the doctor, after diagnosing my hemorroids, says to me, "a lot of people with lots of belly fat get these." I felt like telling her, well, I got them because I was constipated and pushed too hard, not because I'm a fat-ass! Mean doctor. what ever happend to polite society, you know? Don't lie to me, but don't automatically pin ALL my issues on being overweight. What a cop-out!
Sorry for the venting, you guys. I'm really over this, but I just wanted to vent. It is not OK for all doctors to use obesity as a crutch to blame all our problems on instead of searching for all possible causes.
How are you guys feeling today?
Oh I understand. My primary doc was so mean that she made me cry. My husband had to come with me to my appts. Finally,my hubby said," Why do you do this to yourself?" I finally found a good doctor, but it did take some hit and miss opportunities. Seems all the good ones around here are already filled. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. You deserve respect and having your dignity held in utmost respect. What a bunch of sorrry people who have to take their anger and frustration out on someone who came in there for help. They are the ones *****ally need the help. Maybe look around for someone else. Kim M.
