using fitday
Hi all,
Well I have been using fitday and I must say it keeps me honest. I realized I am eating around 1200 calories a day now. Every once in awhile I eat up to 1400. I exercise off about 500-600 calories per day.
I also realized I was not getting in as much water as I thought I was getting. I tend to drink the same bottle for a lot of the day. I also noticed that without my protein shake and protein bar I would not be able to get in all the protein I need.
I used fitday before surgery but I am finding it so much more helpful now. I am back to losing very well. My body is getting what it needs and seeing it on the list keeps me away from those little things I was having every once in awhile. Like Tostitos. Man they have a lot of calories and not much value.
Anyway, it feels good to be taking responsbility for what I am putting in my mouth these days.
I have added Yoga to my workouts which I really need in order to build flexablity and improve my posture. Without the belly in my middle I am finidng I do not stand up to well any more. I have to really make an effort to hold myself up while sitting.
Anyway, how is everyone else doing with getting back on track?

Good post. I find myself struggling at times also. It is so easy to eat the crunchy, salty things - they go down so well for me (aside from tasting good)
I too have really started to pay more attention to what I am eating, making sure I make nutritious choices. Alas, it is just a tool like we were taught. . . .
But it does work if you work it
Does fit day have the calorie counts on it? I haven't used it but have heard of others using it.
Take care
Denise
Hi Girls-How do you adjust the amount size on you the fit day site. I tried to play with it the other day and I am not too computer smart and could not figure out how to get the 1/4 cup of cottage cheese I needed and then could figure out how to keep the entry for the day. Any EASY pointers? Thanks-Sharon
Sharon,
You can add your own products. When you do that put them in according to what is on the package. When you want to add a food choice for the day break it down 1/4 cup = .25, 1/2 cup = .50, 3/4 cup = .75 . So you would put in .25 then use the pull down window to click on cup. The same goes for servings or oz. So if I had 2 1/2 oz of meat I would put 2.50 then click on oz.
To add it click on the go button or look for the add to list button. Your food choices come up a little further down on the page so you may not see it. You do need to make sure you check the amounts in your list to make sure they are right. Once you have had a food you will find it in a list and be able to just click on it. However, it does not always add the correct amount so you need to change that.
I added my vitamins, B-12 and water just as a reminder.
I hope this helps.

Sounds like you are doing what I need to do. I dont have a clear idea of what I am eating. I know its not too much but its probably not the best choices. I am sure I could use more protein. But I love fruit. So I keep meaning to use Fitday.
Also I need to work out....... I have a gym membership but have trouble getting there. So busy!
But I am doing great, down about 84 pounds, not sagging that much actually.. Surprisingly. Happily.
I love it. I am in a size 20 and it feels great. Lots of energy, excited about life.
Happy Happy Happy.
