Losing weight?
Hello Gus,
Usually read your posts ans replies on the Cali board. Mostly I just lurk. You are doing soooooooooo well and you are so determined you will surely continue for atleast the next 6 to 18 months.
My last follow up visit a week ago was really a good experiance, doc said I had already exceeded his expectations. I've been dieting longer than I will admit in public and because of my age, the weight is coming off slowly but regularly, since last August whe I started this latest journey I am down 90 lbs, 55 of them since my April surgery. So I am quite happy with my results to date and will be extatic when I can join you in the century club sometime in the near furture. It is a exciting ride.
up until about 2 weeks ago i was losing at a very steady pace.. but now, not so much. i'm kind of on the verge of freaking out just a little? i know, in my head, that this is probably a stall - but there's this little voice in the back of my head that keeps saying "you f'd it up already, kristen. you're done losing now!! you eat too much, you don't eat enough" etc etc etc.
i think this is a weird time for a lot of us? we're starting to be able to eat more than we ever have [at least i know i am] and i'm totally petrified of eating too much. but then, maybe i'm not eating enough - and my body needs more to keep itself out of starvation mode? i don't know.. I just don't want to be done losing yet!
my surgeon's office was so great with the first 3 months of post-op information.. but i feel like i'm lacking in the "what to do now" stage. i can't wait til my support group meeting next week. i need it!!
keep up the good work, everyone.. i know we're all going to do great - it's just a bumpy road to get there!! [right!??! lol]

ps. i'm down 83-89 pounds in these first 4 months. 327 to 244-238 - i keep playing with these same 6 pounds over the last few weeks! it's infuriating!!!! but hey, at least i look fabulous, right? ;o)
I am still loosing weight.
but you will hit platue's sometimes even for weeks at a time.
I thinkI hit one on vacation. Which was good I was no where near a scale.
when I got homeI was only down 1 lbs from when I had weighed almost 3 weeks before.
I was heart broken I was 219.8 the morning we left and I was 218.8 when we got home.
that was sunday the 20. here it is the 24th and I am down to 212.4
I just keep having faith knowing that i am doing my best to make this surgery work.
I am looking forward to have my stint from my kidney stone surgery removed today so I can finish healing and go back to the gym!
yup, I'm still losing..but I have plenty of plateaus. I watch what I eat (no more than 600 calories/day - mostly all protein) and I exercise for an hour at least 4 times a week, I usually aim for 5 times a week - sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't. I usually burn about 700 calories per session. You're doing just great! Keep up the good work.

Hi Gus,
I'm with you on the first 6 months thinking. My surgeon told me I could expect to lose 90% of the weight I would lose in the first 6 months. I've lost 70 pounds, but I've been staying the same for the last two weeks. I'm 18 pounds from my original goal and I want to get there!
I haven't worked out as much as I'd like. I'm making the commitment to get it done at least 5 times this next week to see if that doesn't help me start losing again.
Keep up the good work!
Betsy
