Do you find yourself getting angry a lot?
Have you found yourself getting frustrated and angry at people a lot more frequently after the surgery?
I have been experiencing this a lot recently. Before when people said some thing mean to me or talked down at me I would shut up and walk away, then I would eat a burger or two to deal with the stress and anger.
Now since food is not the escape I can run to, I have to actually deal with the anger and frustration.
How do you deal with this?
Hahahahaha
Funny you should mention this. I just ripped my co-worker a new A$$h@le because she said something that normally would not have tipped me over. Well guess what? Today it did and I just let it out.
After I was done, my boss, her and me all laughed because it was rather funny to see me go off on her.
Just take it all with a grain of salt I guess.
BUT IT FELT GOOOOOD!!!!!
A friend of mine who had the surgery a year ago and I had this discussion this morning. I have been really cranky the last week. I was feeling needy, tired, weepy, and just plain peeved.
One of the things she said to me was that I needed to learn to have fun and express my energy in a different way. We went to the store and got art supplies. It is wonderful. I can paint all of these feelings and no one but me has to see them.
It did not cost much. I got chalk pastels, oil paints, paper, brushes, oil pastels, all for $5.00 each. Now I can have fun and express my emotions without food.
I am having a blast!

Excellent point. I don't kow what I do with the stress. I think I just bury it deep down and keep on smiling. I get the feeling that life is too short to stay mad and b*tch all the time, so I just forget about things that get me down. Is this healthy? I have no idea. But I do find myself laughing a lot more instead of getting mad at hubby.
My mother and I have had this discussion many times. She was in a horrific auto accident two years ago. While she was recovering she got angry a lot. Since I have had surgery and recovering, I get angry really easy also. We came to the conclusion of it just being part of recovery. It will get better with time. Until then, take a Xanex. LOL I find myself taking time outs.
