Dawnya, I know I haven't been as active on the board as I use to but I am so busy these days and dont really have alot of time to check post anymore but I wanted to give you words of encouragement...... 45 Pds is awesome just remember that is 45 gone for good. Probably 45 that you would of never lost on your own and kept it off. You should be proud of yourself for even just having the surgery it takes alot of courage to put our bodies through what we put them through. Every single person is different and as far as the weight loss it also depends on how big your doc makes your pouch, how much you exercise, what you eat, there are alot of factors that play into our weight. Hang in there and just remember every pound you lose is one pound closer to your goal and one pound towards a healthier. I am down 77 pds but I am a exercise freak and I really really watch what I put into my mouth. So just remember we all are different. best wishes hugs and love lisa

Well, If it makes you feel any better. I'm a slow loser as well Here I am 3 months out and I've only lost 50 pounds. But then I see people who've lost 40-60 the first 2 months. But I can't complain. I am grateful for the 50 and I'm looking forward the next 50.

Dawnya, I was so releived to read your email and all the replys. I had RNY on 4/17/06 and have lost about 46-47 pounds (also fluctuates). I have been feeling like it has been too slow and reading about people that lost 70-90 pounds in their first 3 months really worried me. I feel so much better to realize that there are lots of others around the same loss as I am. Just think, we'll be less likely to need plastic surgery for extra skin : )

I have noticed that the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off at first. Make sure you are getting enough protein. that seems to be a key with me. If I can get 80 grams of protein a day, I lose much quicker than not supplementing and just eating regular food. I can only eat two ounces at a time, so the protein supps give me extra strength during the day, as well as helping to get in the fluid quota. Isopure is a good drink, and I add protein powder to yogurt and fruit smoothies and anything else I can stomach it in. You are doing so well. Keep up the good work!
