What are doing for exercise?
First I was walking with a girlfriend every morning. Then I joined a gym. I got to work with a trainer to learn what to do. So now I walk 1 mile at 7:30 am with my girlfriend then I go to the gym. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I walk for 20 minutes on the treadmill, then do two sets of 15 reps of 7 different exercises using weight machines, then do 60 crunches on an ab bench, then ride the recumbent bike for 30 minutes. On Tuesday and Thursday I walk one mile with my girlfriend, then go to the gym and to the 20 minutes on the treadmill, 60 crunches on the ab bench and 30 minutes on the recumbent bike. I set it up doing all the weights three times a week rather than doing weights every day but working different muscle groups so that if I have to skip a Tuesday or Thursday I can. That way if my house needs attention or I need to make appointments I can do it on Tuesday or Thursday and not mess up my work out routine too much.
I do 1/2 hour of cardio at the gym everyday. On Mon, Weds, Fri I add weights on the machines. I do 15 reps in 2 sets on ten different machines. I alos walk three times a day. One when I get back from the gym as my cool down.
I have a bad habit of adding to much to fast and injury myself so I have been adding things in slowly and really listening to my body. It is not a race but it does require increasing what is being done.
Good luck with your increase to adding weights.

Well, I have a 20 month old son so just waking up and dealing with him is exercise.
But in addition to that I walk AT LEAST 2 miles every day (either outside with the stroller, on a treadmill at the gym or doing a Walk Away the Pounds DVD), I do a water aerobics class twice a week, and I have recently started doing some weight training every other day (3 upper body and 3 lower body machines for now...will be adding more in a few weeks). I think I might also add another water class in a few weeks when registration comes up again.
And this fall I'll be returning to college so that will be an extra mile hike from the parking lot and LOTS of stair climbing (I vowed not to use the elevators this semester)...plus the weight lifting of carrying 3 classes worth of books with me. LOL
