How do you get all required protein in???

I am not able to get much protein in at all each day. Partly because I have become a really picky eater and partly because I throw up at the thought of a protein shake or drink!!! ugh!!! I was told by my doctor last week that if I cannot get 60-80 grams of protein in regularly that my teeth will become loose and fall out!!! I am getting very worried! What types of food do you eat to get the protein grams in each day? Amy

I can't do protein drinks either, but i do have a protein bar for breakfast (20 grams) then at lunch i have 3 oz of chicken or tuna (1 oz=7 grams so 3 oz =21 grams) then for dinner the same.....so i'm getting just at 62 oz a day good luck rad

Amy, I couldn't tolerate the protien shakes either. I have found that I am able to take 1 cup of 2% milk with 1/3 cup of dry powder milk and add some sugar free chocolate syrup or strawberry syrup. This will give you about 16 grams of protien each serving. I drink this about 3 times a day and it has really helped me reach my protien goals. Also remember that chicken is one of your best choices for high protien meat. Kendall

tuna fish also gives you alot of protien 7gram per ounce! I usually get 3 ounces=21 for lunch 3 ounce of chicken for dinner=21 I make shake in the morning.. 12 oz milk carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) that 16 grams. I eat cheese twice a day thats 7 ounces each.. 14 ounces. so rigt there is 72 grams. usually with dinner I have some cottage cheese or something. so I get very close to 80

I have one word. Seafood. Luckily, I enjoy fish. Sooo low in bad stuff, sooo high in protein and other good stuff. I drink one AchievOne in the am for 20 grams. The rest of it comes from food, usually tuna or salmon. Shrimp is great too. Also, Boca meatless products are high protein and low fat. One boca bratwurst has 17 g protein. Not exactly like the real deal, but pretty tasty w/ mustard. I get between 80 -100 g of protein a day this way. If I am low at days end, I will have a nectar lemonade for 22 grams at only 90 cal. My surgeon has me at under 1200 cal. I usually end up somewhere between 700 -850 in cals per day this way. Hope this helps. Our surgeries were one day apart btw!

I LIKE THE ATKINS ADVANTAGE SHAKES-> HAVE 18 of protein & then i add a scoop of whey protein & a little bit of sugar free choc syrup to cover up the taste lol that is 38 not A bad start to the day then i also use profect at night it has 25 ,& i eat meat for dinner & lunch I can not do breakfast yuck not at all & I use to love breakfast .hope this helps so I would say I get about around 75 to 80 a day
