I am 8 weeks out and have not been able to keep solids down for the last 2 days. Is that out of the ordinary? Noodles, spaghetti, etc. Kim M.

Are you eating any meat and vegetables, I have a hard time with pasta myself and I am 8 weeks out tomorrow. I try to stay away from pasta because of the carbs, so it hasn't been a real issue for me. Let me know how it goes. My surgery date was April 21, 2006. Brenda Height: 5 foot Starting Weight: 210 Present Weight: 183.8 Goal Weight: 128 (Normal BMI) I really would like to get to 110

Brenda, I am trying to eat anything soft, that is why I tried the noodles and spaghetti with sauce. I have eaten pork chops, steak etc. without trouble in the past, but for a few days now nothing more than semi soft foods work. My surgery was April 25. I have lost 44 pounds so far. How are you doing? Kim M.

Is it just the pasta or is it all solid foods? Does it hurt going down? Coupled with your belly button trouble I think I would call your Dr and run this by them.

I had my surgery o 4/14 and I was fine on the 3 weeks of liquids after but when I moved to purees I was vomiting up everything. I Found out I had a stricture and I have had to have it dilated 3 times now. Good luck.

If the vomiting continues, I will call about a stricture? I just don't want my opening to get too big. That idea scares me. This is the first time I have ever had any weight loss success. I have lost 44 pounds in 8 weeks and am so thankful for that. Are you doing well? Kim M.

Kim, How are you doing today? Is your belly button any better? What did your surgeon say about it?

Hi Amity, Well today my belly button is better. I went to see a doc. at an immediate care yesterday and honestly he was not real bright. He said, he didn't think there was an infection. That I couldn't understand with the puss and blood and redness and odor. He gave me an antibiotic ointment to put on it. I put alcohol and antibiotics on it yesterday and though it is red, there seems to be improvement. YEAH! I think he was a little confused. As far as eating, I just tried some scrambled eggs and threw those up. This is my third day of hardly being able to eat anything other than pudding and semi-liquid type foods. If this keeps up much longer, I might need to have it checked. Usually my trouble with eating only lasts a day and then I get back on track. How is your recovery been so far? Kim M.

Yay, glad your belly button is feeling better! Have you talked to your surgeon yet about not being able to keep down any food? I would be concerned about a stricture or maybe an ulcer. I am doing pretty well. Going through a really tired spell right now, but I just ordered new vitamins from bariatriceating.com and I am hoping maybe that will do the trick. I have just been doing the childrens chewables up til this point.
