Belly Button odor,puss, pain?

This is really a sensitive question, but this morning my belly button had an odor, puss and some pain. Could something have gotten in there, or do you think it is from the lap rny? Should I call my dr. ? I am 8 weeks out. I wiped it out with alcohol and added a prescription antibiotic ointment. Anyone else ever have this problem. I know it is wierd. Kim M.

It sounds like you should call your doctor. If there is odor and *****ou could have an infection. It is always better to be safe. If it is not an issue they will tell you that. Terrie

I went to an immediate care and the doctor was probably not the brightest of MD's. He said there was not an infection which just blew me away. Then why is there an odor, puss, blood, red streaks, pain? Anyway, he gave me an antibiotic. I have been wiping it out with alcohol and using Bactraban antibiotic cream. It seems better today. I would definately call your Dr. Anytime that there is foul odor and discharge your chances of it being an infection are good. If nothing else, talking to the Dr about it will give you piece of mind.
