ok i know this is totally a superficial question but i have to ask anyway..... i want to get my hair colored (highlights) and i read somewhere that i have to tell the stylist about my surgery. something about the chemicals reacting differently? i dont know......i just know i have too much hair right now and it is dull and i need a boost and this is the way i was going to do it...... anyone one out there know anything about this? thanks..... jennifer

Never heard of that.... I have dyed my hair since surgery and it didn't do anything differently at all.

I have heard of this and actually had my hair colored before my surgery. You don't have to tell your stylist what kind of surgery just that you had surgery and were out so that they know that your hair may take differently. My stylist said it was a good idea to have it done before. Sometimes it takes months for the hair to react normally again. Wouldn't hurt to tell them that you were put out. Good luck Carolyn

Do tell your stylist that you had surgery. It made a difference in my color. It was the same color I've used for the past year and my hair was darker this time.

I had my hair highlighted 1 month after surgery and it looked just like it always did and my stylist still does not know that I had surgery.
