HELP! I'm turning to MUSH!
I celebrated 2 months post op on June 6. Yea me! So far I've lost 44lbs. I am really happy about that, but I feel like it's not enough or like I'm trying to catch up with everyone else. On top of that my stomach, arms and thighs are turning to MUSH! I really want my body to be toned without have to cut away at myself again. What are you all doing to remedy everything going south?
By the way this is my first post and I love this forum. It is so incredibly helpful! You all give me so much inspiration to go forth. But I'm still turing to MUSH!

Have you been exercising?? I've lost 46lbs and I haven't noticed any abnormally mushy stuff going on with my body. I exercise 3-4 times a week, sometimes more. I walk, do arm weights, and water aerobics. I'm suspecting this is helping; however that might be another story as I continue to lose. Good luck with the mushies

I'm down 37lbs and I noticed a few mushy spots myself. I've been walking and this afternoon I'm meeting with a trainer at my gym to get on a program that will involve some weights and such which will hopefully help!
I've also adjusted to the knowledge that I will have extra skin and will have plastic surgery someday...so that helps me cope with it because I have accepted it as part of the process (though I'd still like to avoid it).
You call it mush, I call it FLAPPY. As in, my arms are way FLAPPY.
I've also noticed my stomach getting what appears to be a soft elephant skin. Isn't it the elephant that's kind of wrinkly? Yeah, that's me. And I can already envision the future when it is worse and I have to start FOLDING it to fit it into clothes and stuff like you would tuck in a shirt. Haha.
I know exercise can help, though I don't know exactly which kind yet. I've mostly been walking.
I'm going to set up a date with a personal trainer at my gym soon, and I'm going to ask him/her about it. I'll post if they have anything constructive to say.

I have lost 42 pounds and i feel the MUSH as well. It does just feel like where it was hard it is now soft. The good news is it is soft becasue the fat is fading away. The bad news is I was getting really good at telling myself it was muscle! Exercise is key. I must say i am surprised that I am not exercising more. I have always been someone who loves exercise but I am just not feeling any great desire to go out and do it.
I am walking but about two weeks ago I cut back on that. The last few days I have increased my walking again and I am now using the exercise bike but the bottom line is if I don't want my bottom to hit the floor I need to get to the gym or use one of the many exercise tapes I have at home.
So I am signing off and signing back into getting my body in motion.
Thanks for the reminder!
