Hello April 2006 Baby's I am going to dinner today with a girlfriend at 6 PM to Red Lobster. I am almost 7 weeks out and wanted to know some of the things you would order on the menu. I have ate baked fish and shrimp, but I am still in the stage where I can not fit to much in. Should I order from the Kids Menu or something, would love to hear from you. Take Care Fridays Are Nice

Hey Friday Once when I was on one of my many diets pre op I went to Red Lobster with a friend and had the brown bagged baked salmon with steamed veggies. Yes it actually comes in a brown bag....I guess to kept the moisture in. It was really good and light. (I really wanted the fried shrimp, but I was really trying that time....of course as we all know it didnt work LOL!) I would suggest getting that and taking the rest home....Think about it do restaurants ever have anything on the kids menu that is not fried?! So while we may get a smaller portion the options are not that great. I would go with the adult "baked" something and save what you dont finish. Oh yeah and giiiirl stay away from that cheese bread! One bite and you wont be able to put them down. That stuff is deadly!!! Have fun tonight!!! Nafeesah

Oh man.. the cheese rolls are soooooooo good. I don't know if I could go to Red Lobster yet, just because of how much I love their food AND rolls. But if I were going, I'd probably get some kind of baked or broiled fish or crab cake, crab legs, steamed veggies or a side salad. You could also do crab/lobster bisque as your "soup". And just eat a bit of each, take the rest home for later and later and later . My surgeon gave me a card to use at restaurants for childrens portions or smaller portions (did you get one?). If there's nothing on the childrens menu except fried food, maybe they could substitute something else for you. Most restaurants I've gone to have gone out of their way to make me happy . Enjoy your dinner!

My NUT told me not to go for the kids menu because they have more things with high fat and deep fried. She suggested looking at the appetizers, you may be able to find grilled shrimp skewers. If your friend is a really good friend you may want to try this, it's what I do... my husband will order his plate of food keeping in mind what I can eat and then I order an empty plate and we share. It works out great and costs us less. You might want to see if they have a menu online so you can be prepared when you get there. Good luck and most of all have a great time. Darla

I actually went to Red Lobster for lunch today and resisted the biscuits. I had grilled trout (the half portion), vegetables (I brought them home) and a ceaser side salad. Red Lobster will let you get a half portion on the dinner menu. Jeanne

I personally would just aske your friend if you can snag a few bites off of your friends plate. LOL Thats what I do when I go out with close friends and family.

This is probably too late, but I agree...the fish in the bag is delicious! Its very flavorful, and it comes w/veggies. Don't order from the kids menu, just get a "to go" box for it.
