Did anyone else reach a plateau at 6 weeks after surgery? Or, did anyone reach any other plateaus in their journey? Help, I'm stuck. . . . .

Hey Brenda - I think we all pretty much have hit plateaus already. Look at the post further down entitled "Anyone disappointed in their loss?" Hang in there - your body is trying to adjust and it doesn't know you aren't starving it to death. It needs to regroup and then BAM you will lose again. Denise

Mine was at 3-4 weeks or so. It was pretty frustrating. Week 5 though, I lost over 3 pounds (I'm a slow loser compared to some, at 6 weeks, I've lost 24 lbs but several inches). You're going to hit plateaus or stalls all along the way. Head over to the main board and look for a post by Dawn Sobers about not losing fast enough. She gives a really nice view of what is happening to you and why. She's a good support person too! Melissa

I plateaued at 3 weeks and lost only 4 pounds over the next 3 weeks . The scale would go back and forth back and forth. Then this past weekend I lost 6 pounds in 2 days. It shocked the h*ck out of me. One thing I did do was eat MORE to get in more calories this last week. And I think that really helped me start to lose weight again.

I am 7 weeks out and have hit 2 plateaus thus far, each one lasting 5 - 7 days. I just increased my water and exercise and eventually the scale started moving again. I know it's hard not to get impatient, but...well, I dont have anything to follow that up. Just hang in there! Lisa L. 380/330/170

Oh yeah Brenda...I'm plateau girl! At 2 weeks out (after losing 21#!) my body took a break...a LOOOONG break...2 weeks to be exact. Then I lost another 7 lbs in week 5 and now I'm seesawing back and forth, up a pound, down a pound, up, down, up, down. I've read enough of the posts on the main messageboard to see that it's entirely normal so I'm trying not to get worked up about it. I know that on the amount I'm eating my body just CAN'T maintain this weight....okay I know that REALISTICALLY, but sometimes I feel some disappointment and fear also. You know, fear that maybe this isn't going to work for me...that maybe I'm doing something wrong...or maybe my body just won't lose the weight because it loves being fat so much. Crazy thinking I know, but that's just the way it is sometimes! Keep on going with whatever you're doing and the weight will come off. Sharon

I have been on a plateau for 10 days and am trying not to freak out. I saw my doctor for my 6 wk and have not changed since then, infact I went up a lb, then down a lb then up again and back down to the exact weight. I went back to weighing my food, no more just eyeballing it. I am praying this will start to move again and soon. Patience has never been one of my virtues, but I am feeling totally freaked out by it.
