I just Found this April 06 Surgery Board!!!

Hello Everyone I am so glad I found this board so that I can talk to people that are going threw the same thing as me at the same time. I had my Surgery 4/17/06 and I am at 8 weeks this week. I have lost 53 pds maybe a little more I have not got on a scale this week. I was very sick at first and had some problems but as time goes on I am getting better. I started this week full time at my job and I also started walking at my lunches and after work. I want to start doing more but I get so weak at time still but I know I will get there. I read all the things on this boeard and I thank all of you for your word that helps me threw my days. Thanks Fridayss Are Nice!!!

Welcome, Fridayss! I am happy to hear you are doing so well now. You will find that this board is much more active than Dr O's. Do you know if your RNY is considered Distal or proximal? I had my 6-week with Deb and she told me that they bypassed almost 80 inches of intestine and I don't know if that is alot or not. I am assuming that Dr O bypasses a pretty similar amount with all his patients... Ginny

I do not know the answer to that but I will find out and thanks.

Welcome Fridayss! It is nice to be able to have people to talk to going through the same thing. That's why I was so happy I just found tihs board also! My surgery was 4/25 and I feel very good most of the time. Sounds like your weight loss is going FANTASTIC! Congratulations! I'll look for you here on the boards and hope to get to know you better as time goes on. Sharon
