I've heard alot of discussion on other boards with regards to protein. I realize the recommended amount is 70 - 100 grams but I had some questions related to amount v. body size (I've heard many different concepts). FYI - Look under Q&A Database for the question I posted called "protein v. body weight" - it's about halfway down the page now. Very interesting answers (especially the one posted by Michelle Curran) Any comments? Denise

Hi Denise, I was told to take your body weight and times it by .3 and this the middle grams of protein needed per day. For the lower end times it by .2 and for the higher end times it by .4. This is what the Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies says we need. Have a great day.

Hi Deanna! Do you use your goal weight for the calculation or current weight? Denise

http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/protein.asp This calculator will give you the minimum amount recommended. It is also nice because it figures it based on your lifestyle too, not just your body weight. I go for 100g a day minimum, even though my recommended minimum is 74. If I drop lower than 100 for more than a day or so I feel a decrease in my energy level.
