/Hi!
First, congrats on your weight loss. 30lbs in a month is nothing to sneeze at. I myself seem to be in a stall, just at the same time I finally broke down and bought a scale. I've been within the same two or three pounds for a week. Remember, your body has to take a break every so often, and it is then that you are losing inches. Of course I haven't taken measurements yet, but I do notice some clothes fitting better, and some I'm going to need to give up soon like my favorite purple shirt which was large on me before but I could fit me and someone else into now.
I don't know if you belong to a gym or not (is that where you're using the treadmill?) but if so, try using some of the other machines. I love the elliptical machine, you can work out your entire body. It's tough though, many people tell me I'm insane for using it. If you're using your own personal treadmill, then I don't know what to tell you there. Maybe get an exercise video or DVD?
If you're looking for a walking partner, maybe try the MD board or the DC board, or maybe even the VA board. I'm just across the Beltway from you in Virginia, which as you know can be hours away sometimes. Good luck finding a partner!

Hi there and welcome,
Congrats on your weight loss so far! I am 8 weeks post-op and have lost 44 pounds.
I have not made it past walking. We usually go as a family in the evenings, but our walking time and distance has improved greatly. I have no time to go to the gym, although I have an eliptical machine in storage that I plan to use after we move next month. I am in DC...bolling AFB...where are you?
p.s. have you been told not to have salad? I wasn't put on any restrictions. I have had salad several times and it tastes pretty good

Hey there...I'm a first time poster as well and "April Baby too!!" I'm in the DC area and would love to walk/jog with you! I need to boost my workouts as well. I haven't been living up to my potiential by far and its really making me dissapointed in myself. I feel like I need the support of another WLS patient who understands. I believe when people work out together it makes you have to be more accountable and that's what I need in my life accountability! I had the surgery on April 6th and I'm down 42lbs. Shoot me an email if you wanna do this gurl! Let's boost our weight loss!!!

Hi Cutey
Congratulations on your loss so far! I've been stuck for about two weeks but I've started moving again, in the right direction of course . But even though I wasn't losing pounds, I was definitely losing inches. I'm 6 weeks out today and have lost 40 pounds. I started salads last week and I hadn't realized how much I missed salads until I couldn't eat them. My favorite is a spinach salad ( I can handle the soft spinach leaves better than others) with boiled egg, shredded cheese, chicken breast and LF ranch dressing. YUM! I'm not exercising like I should be. I really need to get my head out of my butt and get going.
Welcome to the April board!
