Sell your fat?
I overheard a conversation at work today about people SELLING their fat?????
I think they were about me and mine. or maybe I'm just paranoid .
When I watched my surgery DVD I was amazed at all the fat in there. It was like gobs and gobs of nasty chicken fat. My son said it looked like piles of canned peaches..lol. I know I have a lot of fat but to actually see it inside of me was just ridiculous and embarrassing. My surgeon said that eventually it WILL go away. If I sold MY fat, I'd be rich .
But seriously, anyone heard of this? If it's true, what's it being used for?
I just found this article though it's an old one......
"Human fat, scorned and despised and ruthlessly vacuumed from bellies and backsides by liposuction, may have a redeeming feature after all. The much-maligned tissue appears to be a rich source of stem cells, prized by scientists for their seemingly magical power to turn into a variety of tissue types."

It doesn't mention donors being "paid" for their fat though. Maybe it was just my co-workers talking about it and WERE talking about me since I have so much. They really didn't know I had walked in.
I would also be rich!!!
I asked to see pictures from my surgery but I was told they didn't take any---
I wonder if they have a DVD of mine!!! Goodness how long is your video, I think that is awesome but might freak me out and make my body parts hurt jus****ching it!!!!
But the thought is so cool! Do a lot of people have tapes of their surgery????
Did you have open or lap? If you had open there would be no video. But lap--probably. Because when lap, your surgeon is performing your surgery while watching the tv screen. My surgeon said he records every single lap surgery he performs. So I asked him if he could make me a copy (i honestly didn't think he would) but he did. And really that made me feel good knowing that he was confident enough in performing my surgery to let me watch it. It's about 3 hours. I've still no****ched the whole thing. I've skipped forward to certain parts and watched gallbladder removal at end. I'd watched other videos of this surgery online but it was definitely strange seeing my own plumbing inside.
My surgeon suggested having a movie night, inviting all my friends & family over but not tell them what we'll be watching. Make them popcorn, etc. ......
I don't think so!
