I had lap band on ap...
Hi Larrie
You are in the same boat as me. I was banded on 14th April and can eat anything now too. That is because the swelling from the surgery has gone down but we are not get restricted by our first fill.
Have patience. I realise from experience that it is a difficult time, as all the "failure" thoughts pop into your mind - I was convinced it would not work for me.
It is a little trying right now as we need to "self-regulate" the amount that we are eating. I am trying to eat half of what I used to eat before surgery - Don't want to stretch my pouch, even though food is mostly going straight through to the main part of our stomachs.
Phone your surgeons office and try and book your first fill, as I have done (5th June), that will give you something to look forward to and some light to the end of the dieting/being hungry/not being satisfied phase.
Hope this helps. Karren
I have a friend that experienced the same thing and was so discouraged and was upset that she had the band. But when she went for her first fill things changed and she was able to feel full with so much less and started loosing and became really happy with her band. So don't worry things will get better once you have your fill. This is something that you will need periodically as I understand to keep you regulated. When is your first one??

I have to wait 6 weeks for my first fill no mater what. When I went in Monday for my check up my Dr. told me I would start to be able to eat more especailly during week 5. He said not to panic. He will not do a first fill until 6 weeks post op he said the few pounds you would loose in a week aren't important enough to risk a band complication. I had surgergy on 4/26 my first fill is scheduled for 6/13.
