Questions/Inquiries for April posties!
Had my RNY on the 18th and have lost 38 lbs. I had complications though, pnemonia and a major blood clot. I also had a lot of regret issues and low energy. Other than that I have had no intolerances, and pretty much eat what I want just three bites of it. I am having a hard time getting my protein but I am getting my vitamins and water. Between week three and four I got energy back and have started exersizing. I am getting stronger everyday now.
Everyone is doing SO well!!!
I had my lap RNY on 4/17. I have lost 28 pounds since then (as of last Monday) and I'm doing water aerobics now. I hope to keep that scale moooooving! I have had no complications, no troubles, and today I am trying crackers (dun dun dun). I'm keeping a food diary right by the fridge and it is looking good. i get enough protein, have fallen in love with tofu, look a bit different in the face and butt and I'm working harder to get all my water in. That has been my only stumbling block.
I think I am a little on the slow side... surgery on the 12th and so far I have lost 28 lbs. I only weigh myself once a week - otherwise I would go crazy! I have had no complications and have tolerated everything I have tried so far. I have had two bouts of constipation. I have started taking chewable fiber and so far so good. Good luck to all of my fellow April posties!
Hi Cheryl,
I had my surgery on the 20 th and have lost 22 lbs since . I lost 60 lbs. prior to surgery making it a grand total of 82 lbs. I am losing very slowly now but hey , I am losing and not gaining so I try not to let it get to me !
I have been at a stand still for about 5 day's now , but I also have Aunt Flow visiting me too so hopefully she will head on out soon and thing's should start happening again !

Hi.
I had Lap RNY on 4/18 and have lost 23lbs as of yesterday at the surgeon's office. I WAS only weighing at the surgeon's, but my next appointment isn't until 7/19 and I don't think I want to wait that long, so it's time to invest in a scale....
Pre-op, I lost 28lbs, so the grand total between the two is 51. Woohoo!
Doing really well, and went to the gym for the first time today since surgery. I'm doing at least three times more than I was doing preop, which was amazing to me. I kept challenging myself to stay on the machine longer or get more mileage. After 45 min and a few different machines, I was beat. Two months ago, they would have had to call the rescue squad.

I had Lap RNY on Apr 18/06 and am doing great. Since surgery day I've lost 28 lbs. at my 1 mth anniversary. From my highest weight I'm down 63.5 lbs. I went back to work this week and am a little tired - miss sleeping in in the morning - that alarm goes off way to early these days. I've pretty much had no complications - can eat practically anything I try (small portions). Did have one moment a few days ago which wasn't nice and have no idea why - came on super quick. And still have the pain in my left side??? - but it's getting better....
This was a great post - nice to see how everyone is doing We are all doing great and should do this on a regular basis.

Is it a burning sort of pain? I had some pain like this in my left side (also had Lap RNY, same day. ) which would occur in this one little place (if you were to measure it it would be like an inch square) about two inches below one of the staple lines. I got this pain mostly when I tried to lay down to go to bed. Last weekend, when I laid down to go to sleep it HURT worse than it ever had. Then it was gone, and has not come back since. I thought that was weird. When I went to see the surgeon Wednesday, he told me that it was scar tissue forming. You may be having the same thing happen.
Good luck to you,
Julie
You have to remember, you may not have as much to lose as some of us around here. To my understanding, the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off. The less, the slower. So when all the rest of us catch up to you, we won't be losing as fast either!
Maybe if you thought in terms of doubling your weight and weight loss it would feel better. If you weighed 420 as your starting weight, your weight loss would be 30.4 pounds to date, and this would be right on target. So, it seems to me that starting at 210 and losing 15.2 should also be right on target.
Not only that, there are people here who would kill to be at 210 at any rate. Myself included.
Take it easy on yourself, it will be ok!
