Questions/Inquiries for April posties!
Hey there, I just want to see where others are at. I had my surgery on 4/14 and have lost 23 pounds. I know not to compare to other but just was curious how others were doing. I have had a stricture that I had to have dilated last week and now I have abnormal liver function test that I went and gave more blood for today. WHAT NEXT!! Anyway, hope you are all doing well and losing!! Cheryl
My surgery was also on 4/20, and as of 5/5, I had lost 29 pounds. I'm hoping I've lost more since then - i'll find out tomorrow!
I guess I'm lucky in that I haven't had any issues, other than one bout of nausea in the hospital. I'm able to tolerate just about any kind of food, so long as I eat slowly. This has never been a problem for me.
I'm now finding that i can eat a bit more than 1/4 of a cup at a time. so I'm introducing a few veggies after i've eaten my 2oz of meat. I'm still on pureee, but i have been eating a little of the softer foods and chewing, chewing, chewing til it's pureed in my mouth. mmm yum. lol
actually, i did have one complication.. lol. i had an open RNY/hernia repair/hysterectomy [just the uterus because i had a huge fibroid - size of a lg canteloupe].. so my incision was 14" and i had 56 staples in... on the 5th, my doctor took out all the staples.. or so we thought!! today, i peeled off the last of my steri-strips..
and i still have 2 staples left in!!! so i'm going back tomorrow to have those suckers removed. LOL
keep up the great work and i hope everyone feels great!

Things have been going really well for me. I feel great! I am tired alot lately. I have lost 28 pounds. I had surgery on April 26. I have reached a point where I do not want to eat. I am just feeling a little sick this week. I get all my water in and do well with food. I am walking at least a mile a day and have started on the exercise bike. I am starting to have leg cramps which concern me a little. I take my vitamins twice a day. I have not lost in over a week and I am ready to see the scale moving again! I think this is normal.

Hey Everyone,
I had surgery on 4/12 and I have lost 34 lbs since then. I lost 20 lbs before so I have lost 54 lbs. I seem to be slowing down now. I get my water in and drink two protein drinks aday. I am also trying different proteins. I eat about 2 - 3 oz of food when I eat. I try to make my self eat to get plenty of protein in. I have a cold right now and am not walking like I should. I plan to start back as soon as my breathing gets better.
I hope and pray that you are getting better everyday. Keep up the good work.
God Bless
Crystal
Hi All:
My surgery was April 11. I lost 10 before and 30 since. I have mostly made my minimums of water and protein, but barely. Had a lot of trial and error eating and am now pretty sure it has to be very small portions and very easily chewed and eaten slowly. Too much fat will give me diareah.
I am now back to aqua aerobics and enjoying the motion, but my knees are screaming. I haven't been brave enough to take a vicadin for the pain.
I feel pretty satisfied with how things are going. And very optomistic about the future.
Best Wishes.
Val
Hey Cheryl -
I have lost 25 pounds at my one month mark and 12 before so that's 37 pounds so far. I don't weigh every day, just every 2 weeks because I don't want to become obsessed and that is really working better for me. I was focusing too much on the scale and not what was going on in my life like a goofball.
Congrats on coming to the losing side and your weight loss.
