Hi, there. Yesterday was the first time I threw up. Today I ate a couple of bites of tuna and the same thing happend. I'm afraid to eat any more. Also I went thru menopause about 6 years ago. Sunday I started to menstrate. One week after surgery I had gout in the right foot, last friday gout in the left food. Anyone else have any of these problems? I have lost 30 pounds so far.

Heidi Sorry to hear your having so many problems.....did you make sure to chew chew chew before you swallowed? you have to remember to chew until liquid. I see your in Aberdeen, SD, I went to NSU back in the 90's and my Dad grew up there in town. I was back there two years ago visiting and sure do miss the small town thing. I lived in Jerde Hall. Heidi great job on the weight loss congrats as far as the tuna it may be too much for you I had a hard time in the beginning with it then I tried it again later and found out that i used light miracle whip the first time and then I just light mayo the second and it was fine so I was told that miracle whip even light has fat so could be what you mixed it with or maybe you are not ready for that yet give it a few weeks and then try it again best of luck hugs and love lisa

I am 4-1/2 weeks out and at about 2-1/2 weeks out I was having the same problem with anything besides pure liquids that I was putting in my mouth and it ended up that I had a stricture that they had to go in and dilate with an endoscope. Good luck!

Heidi, 1. Make sure your protiens are WET- lite mayo etc. Otherwise you can easily toss it back up. If you are very concerned spend a few days on shakes and liquids. 2. Excuse my bluntness- are you 100% sure you were having menstrual discharge and not rectal bleeding or other? That sounds like a major issue- has the bleeding subsided? Heavy or lite? 3. Gout- if I recall correctly gout is brought on by hi levels of uric acid in the blood from a rich diet among other things. Check and see that you aren't getting too many carbs, try some dark green veggies, stay WELL hydrated, as well as vinegar salad dressing. I think pomegranite juice helps too but I don't know the sugar levels in there so check before you taste! I would call your doc on all these just to be sure. Best of luck and congrats on the losses so far! Beth

Hi, Heidi. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and am still having problems with meat and fish. I have to chew it to death and then if it hasn't totally disintegrated, I have to spit it out. Otherwise it comes back up and if it doesn't I get really nauseous. The good news is that it is getting better. More stays down every day. Meanwhile, I am not relying on meat for my protein. On one hand I am not surprised that you started to menstruate. I was kind of expecting to have a period even though I haven't had one in 6 months. Pre-menopause, I would have a period any time I had a major trauma to my body, i.e. major viral illness, surgery, etc. even if I had just had one. It was explained to me as a hormonaly response to the trauma. On the other hand, I am very surprised that this happened to you after 6 years. Is there any other reason for your hormones to radically fluctuate? BTW, good job on the weight loss. Dotsie

Thanks to all of you for replying. I finally heard back from the nurse and she told me it was not unusually to start bleeding again (even after 6 years). I am having a pap done in June just to be on the save side. I will be much more careful what I put in my mouth the next time and chew, chew chew.
