And Happy Mother's Day yesterday to all ye mothers It's been awhile since I've been here to post anything. I hope everyone is doing well! My daughter and her fiance arrived two days after I flew home from Colombia and with them being here and me going back to work LAST Tuesday, I haven't been on the computer much at all. I'm just so tired after I get home from work, all I want to do is lay down. I've been trying to walk a little here and there throughout the day (mostly around the office and at home because it's been in the 90's here, the heat is making me sick. I feel really good when I get up but get so tired mid-day/afternoon. I need a nap mat behind my desk like they have in kindergarten .. lol. I still am on clear liquids. I know a lot of surgeons allow semi-solids/solids sooner than mine but I'm trying to follow my doctors post-op diet to a T. It's just getting to the point where I know I need SOMETHING of substance. I'm getting all my liquids, broth, sf popsicles and THAT'S IT. I can't have protein drinks or powder (my doctor said never protein drinks because it fills you up then you don't get other stuff you need). My first 1/2 egg isn't until the 24th (which would be almost ONE MONTH from my surgery). I found a local bariatric surgeon who has agreed to my follow up and my first appointment with him is on Wednesday. Maybe he'll tell me it's okay to eat SOMETHING. My surgeon and the one I'm going to for followup said the reason some have you on liquids for so long is because everything is still swollen inside, the clear liquids help prevent bowel obstructions. I sure don't want one but I'll tell ya a , I did have a little egg drop soup. Tasted like steak & potatos to me! . I figured there was no way egg drop soup could hurt me. Those of you who are on semi-solids/solids - have a bite for me . This weekend was the first time that I actually felt hunger pangs. "Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase feed me" pouchie said. Maybe it was because I cooked for my son all weekend and cooked dinner for my mom yesterday . or maybe it's because I'm actually starving. lol. I've not weighed since I'd lost 29 pounds. That kind of scared me so I'm waiting to weight again until I go to the doc on Wed. One of my cats got out on Saturday and came back late last night. He'd been shot twice....I was so upset last night/this morning. And SO pissed off. I'm waiting to find out if he has to be put to sleep. Bless his heart....... I'm at work now but when I get home later, I'm going to read through everyone's posts. I have much catching up to do and now that my daughter has left , I'll have some time to spend online in the evenings after I go home and take a nap. Love & Hugs!

Thank you, Serena! I've been told 4-6 weeks out is the magical time where we start to feel "normal" again. I'm glad you're getting your energy back... I'm looking forward to it. I honestly hope I don't find out who shot my cat....

Welcome Back!! I missed you!! Glad to hear everything went well. I did follow my docs diet, but I did start soft foods about 3 days early, just couldn't bring myself to eat another piece of jello.

Thank you! I missed everyone too! I used to love Jello but I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat it again. How are you doing, Cindee?

I am doing great!! still having some pain, mostly an ache now, in the area where the doc put the large instrument in, he said he had to move and manipulate the muscle alot in there, so thats why it still hurts. I am eating fairly normal now, I can eat what I can tolerate. So ... That means alot of string cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, and my lil tum likes chicken from a can...LOL. But, I am doing good. Walking is a problem right now as they are resurfacing my road, and there is no where to walk unless I drive there first, but other than that, GREAT!! Thanks for asking!!

Your such a trooper. I dont think I could do what you are doing. Take a pillow with you to work and sneak a nap in during break. LOL Im sorry about your cat. Wade just found our cat in the back yard. Poor thing, she died all alone. I wish I could have been with her to hold her. We're not sure what it was that did it. But I am still sad about it. Anyway, take those naps when you get home they are good for you. My mother leaves Thursday to go home. I wonder if I am ready to take care of our 2 year old alone. Im not allowed to pick her up yet. Ugh! How will I do it? Forced to figure it out. LOL Big HUG for you, Im glad you are doing better. Jenn

Jenn, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Isn't that odd ... both our cats at the same time? I've got to call the vet to see what's going on this morning. I've been afraid to call... but I've got to. You've been fortunate to have your mom there this long. I bet you'll do just fine when she leaves. It's amazing how we figure it out when we have to . Hugs to you, Jenn!

We decided that the girls and I are going to go with my mother this time. When I sleeep I just sleep too hard for our youngest. She was climbing all over me and I slept through it all. So I wont be posting anything for a few weeks probably.

Lisa, I'm so glad to see your smiling face back here. Someday I want to hear all about your stay in Columbia. I visited there in the early 80's and was so terrified of the stories I'd heard about traveling in Bogata. I was on the coast but it was scary when the plane landed in a city it wasn't supposed to (and no one told us) and we were greated by soldiers with automatic weapons on their shoulders. Jeanne
