How long does it take you to eat?
Rarely under 30 minutes. If I've been sitting there for 40 minutes, it goes in the refrigerator or to the dog.
I've always been a naturally slow eater so this isn't a big problem. If I think I'm going too fast, I update my daily food log or read a book (when I'm alone) during meals. Hubby is going crazy because he eats really fast. Since he wants to support me, he gets up a couple of times for additional food / drink during meals. I fear he's going to gain weight as I lose!

I use a baby spoon to eat with. I do pretty good eating slow. Today I drank too fast because I had been walking around in the sun and threw up from too much liquid. That is the hardest part for me drinking. Because I just want to glug glug glug like before. I use to could drink 23 ounces at one time now I am lucky if I can drink 2 or 3 ounces. LOL I can eat a whole cup of yogart in 45 minutes if that give you a clue... LOL Long time. Mostly I just eat 4 or 5 bites and then wait until I feel hungry and eat again. Im a grazer. My mother says I am eating all the time, but she says your lucky if you eat in a whole day what I eat in one meal. I know for sure I am not eating that much in a day. I only had 620something calories yesterday. Ugh! Here I am blah blah blah. LOL Ok talk to you later.

Denise,
I work in surgery and I have always had to eat pretty fast so I still eat kinda fast I say about 15 or 20 mins to eat but it depends on what I am eating as well when I eat chicken or beef I really eat slow because you have to chew chew chew......but like a boiled egg or cheese crackers I can have them gone in 15 min.....it is really hard to change a bad habit like that I try and keep doing things while I eat but sometimes it is hard I dont like cold food and as much as we are eating it will get cold fast and then you dont want to eat so if you eat it quicker than it stays hot right lol well I suggest maybe finding things to do while you eat maybe that will help
hugs and love

I am really struggling too. I take at most 10 minutes to eat, unless I really concentrate on the clock. The result is that I over eat, then have to put up with discomfort for 20-40 minutes. I am doing better the past 3-4 days, but it is a very difficult change for me too.
The suggestions I've gotten are...
Take very small bites.
Put your fork or spoon down between each bite.
Use a baby spoon.
Chew each bite 20 times.
Bring a book to the table.
Get up and do something for a couple minutes between bites. (ie distract yourself somehow).
Good Luck to you! Heidi L-S
