I haven't tried protein tablets but I use Unjury protein. It is light and not gritty at all. It's very tasty and I mix it in with jello, pudding and also make chocolate-banana shakes. They have great recipes on their website! Good luck! Teresa

Topic: RE: I'm not sure if I'm hungry
Hello Laura, I am at about 4 monthes out myself and I have not had the problem, but I have the grawling noise in the morning, it wakes me up sometimes ! I guess I can't say that I haven't had it then.... Well I find if I get in a protein shake the frist thing in the morning I do not get any hunger pains or noise during the day. I have to remind myself to eat sometimes !! And Like you I was always eating before WLS. So make sure you get your protein in and vitamins in the first thing in the morning and then plan your meals thru out the day. I am up to about 3 1/2 to 4 ozes per meal now. Another signal of when your getting full I learn from another message board is when your nose starts running stop eating and you are right at the fullness stage, I myself have trouble and throwing up alot still but since I learned that "running nose " idea I have not done it so much! Hope that helps you out.... Take care . Tom

Topic: Local ObesityHelp Support Groups
DID YOU KNOW THAT OBESITYHELP.COM HAS LOCAL CHAPTERS IN YOUR AREA THAT ARE SPONSORED AND LED BY OBESITYHELP.COM MEMBERS???? THESE GROUPS ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY SURGEON SO EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO THESE GENERAL SUPPORT GROUPS!!!! http://www.obesityhelpchapters.com/SupportGpList.php Click link above to find out if there is a local ObesityHelp chapter in your area. If you go to a general support group (doesn't have to be obesityhelp sponsored) that is for all patients that is not listed on the above link, please e-mail [email protected] or [email protected]. They can add it. These groups are for ALL patients - preop and post-op - no matter who your surgeon was or will be!! You can even start your own support group in your area. That's what I did. My WLS was in March of this year and in May I got info through ObesityHelp.com on how to start a group, and went through their leadership training. Then in June of this year (just 3 months out of surgery) I started my own support group that all ObesityHelp members and WLS patients are welcome to attend!! If you feel a need to start a support group of your own in your area, like to lead, love to reach out to others and are also a good listener (not a know it all), contact [email protected] to find out how to become a leader! You can also go to this site for more info: http://www.obesityhelpchapters.com/WhatIsChapter.htm Face-to-face support groups are SOOOO important in our WLS journey!!! Online support is great, but face-to-face rocks in my opinion!!! Trisha in Arizona

Topic: RE: Have you tried protein tablets?
Does anyone out there know the answer to this question about protein supplements? Looking forward to hear if they (protein tablets, pills, etc) exist and where we can purchase them. I am struggling getting in enough protein in my food and also with finding a protein drink that I can tolerate. I did purchase AchievOne coffee drinks and am waiting for them to be shipped. I hear they are absolutely incredible - just like Starbucks! Can't wait for that! But, another option to get the protein would be fantastic. Any and all replies would be appreciated! I think there are some others waiting for a reply to this as well. THANKS!! [email protected] Gina

It sounds like you may not be eating enough at meals. I have that horrible grumbling all the time when I eat a meal that doesn't make me full. Eat a little more than usual and see if the grumbling goes away for longer

Help! Before my WLS, I had no idea what hunger and fullness felt like because I ate all the time. The fullness mechanism was especially screwed up, which is probably the case with many of us. Anyway, here I am, almost 4 months out and I don't trust my body enough to know if this grumbling I feel in my belly is real or not! I've been drinking fluids consistantly so I'm not thirsty at all. I don't want to stretch my pouch but I don't want to deny my body if it needs food. Am I crazy? Thanks for all your help, Laura*
