Topic: RE: Hair Loss
Hi Julia,
My hair loss started about a month ago. I'm scared to death also. I've consisitantly gotten my protein in daily, taken biotin since a month before surgery and taken zinc since a month before surgery. Also, the second I started losing hair I started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner.
Guess what??? I'M STILL LOSING MY HAIR, LOL!! I don't think theres anything we can do but wait for it to stop. I've got so many grey roots that you can actually see my original hair color mixed in with grey. I was trying to wait this out, but tomorrow I'm going to get it taken care of, maybe even highlights if my hairdresser feels I can handle it. Wish me luck also and hopefully I won't go bald after tomorrow.
"THEY" say it will end within a few months, so we just have to hope for the best.
Good luck to all of us,
Kelly
Topic: Oven Poppers?
Has anyone else tried these? They are 5 oz of fish stuffed with all different things, depending on which one you chose. Great source of protein. I make these a few times a week at work in our toaster oven. Just wanted to share!

PS: Oh yea, their website is Ovenpoppers.com. If you contact them and ask them to send you some coupons, they will send you some .35 cents off coupons and a coupon for a free box. (Shhh...don't tell them I told you, lol)

Congratulations Dee!
Truth be told, I don't exercise as I should but I have to admit I have chronic back pain and aren't just a lazy brat. I have started eating more protein and I've been taking an herbal laxative which clears the pipe so I'm not packing extra pounds up there. I'm just grateful the scale is moving again.

You know, I haven't had to color my roots since last month. It never occured to me that it's because not only is my hair falling out, it's not growing. I don't like this part of WLS.
I too will look forward to the return of graying roots.
Congratulations!

Hi Pam,
The only stats I record are protein grams (I generally get 50- 75 or so) and liquids (68-90 ounces). I do write down everything I eat. So far, praise God, I've been keeping to the straight and narrow with protein foods, Kashi Go Lean cereal, vegetables, and fruit. (Well, there was the cake and cookie splurge last weekend but that was a mental health emergency.) Pasta and bread and fried foods don't agree with me so I have no problem avoiding them. I refuse to count calories, I don't do fat free because when the fat comes out, for the most part the replace it with sugar alcohols and gross stuff. I don't count carbs either.
Good luck to you,
Lynda
Topic: RE: How much has everybody lost????
My date was 4/6/05. I started out great the first 3 weeks and now I am losing real slow. I notice that everyone seems to be losing more than I am. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I am down 51 lbs and to go along with everyone else my HAIR IS FALLING OUT!!!! I guess I'm not so different afterall. Its so good to have alot of great people here to help out.
God Bless

Topic: RE: How many can you
Hi Alice,
I can usually eat 2-4 oz. I am out 4 months from surgery. I have a tough time keeping up with as many meals as I should be eating because I am still not having any feeling of hunger. I also have to pay attention to eating slowly or I will puke it right back up. Bringing a book or magazine to the dinner table helps me out big time. Take a bite, read. Take a bite, read....LOL!

Hi Lynda,
Congrats on the scale moving again for you!
I had a stall about a month back and it was frustrating. I just stepped up the exercising, protien and water a notch and I finally lost 7 lbs. after not loosing for 2 weeks, thankfully!

Hi April reborns!
My surgery was 4-26-05 and I have lost 70 lbs. since surgery and add the 29 lbs. prior to surgery that I lost....99 lbs TOTAL!!! I am having a fantastic summer and I have never been more comfortable in the heat and humidity as I have since the weight has been coming off. I've worn sandles for the first time in over 20 years! Usually I would be in A/C all summer and come out again in the fall. I walked into the hospital in size 26/28 jeans (skin tight) and I am now sitting here in a size 18's! WOW!!
Two small complaints, I am loosing hair by the handfuls and my bewbies are going to touch my toes soon....LOL!!!
Hey, in life there are trade off's and I will take these two trade off's ANYDAY and would do it again to feel THIS fantastic!
Keep up the great work all, everyone seems to be doing awesome and feeling renewed!
Purrs,
Dee
