You all keep saying "slow loser" but c'mon, when is the last time you lost 80 pounds in 4 months? I think 80pounds is awesome! Thats a lot to be thankful for. The rest will come off. It's almost impossible for it NOT to. Good luck!

Yea, I know what your going through, I was losing about 5-7 pounds a week but now have slowed to around a pound a week, I have to admit I could pick up the exercising a little more. I am finding it easier to snack on things like cheeze-its and wheat thins with cheese. My will power is starting to take a nose dive. i do dump on sugar and fried foods so thats good. But that urge to snack is back, so I know thats not helping the weight loss. Best wishes to you, the scale will move again, we just need to stick together and be patient.

Topic: RE: Hair Loss
Well everyone told be if I am going to lose my hair that it will be by the 3 month mark. I hit the 3 month point and no hair loss, so I took a BIG sigh of releif.......untill last week. My hair is coming out in huge handfuls and I also am FREAKING out. my hair is already short, fine, and thin. I can't afford to lose a single strand of hair at this point. I, like you, have heard so many ways to cure this but I have come to the conclusion that it is just something that happens to people who go through a trauma of some sort. The surgery was tramatic to our bodies. When my sister had a C-section she lost a TON of hair about 3 months after for about 5 months. Also I have heard that a drastic weight loss will cause this too. So who the heck knows but I think it sucks!!!!!!!! The price we pay for beauty huh??? Don't worry, we can be bald together, misery does love company, so I'll join ya.

Hey there!
I read your post and I too weighed over 400lbs. (410) to be exact. I made a reply if you can, read it. But really quick I hated the aftertaste of the shakes also so I use orange juice (diluted) a little and frozen fruits and protein 95 from GNC it has been the best for me so far yet I do not use the chocolates, cookies and creams, i use strawberry, banana, or vanilla. I do not weigh daily, I weigh once a month at my support group meetings. as of 7/19 I am down 91lbs and no hair loss yet. Keep up the good work and congrats to you.

WOW!!!
It is wonderful isn't? I had my surgery 4/8 oops..I think i posted it wrong in another reply, sorry. Well anyways I too was over 400lbs. (410) to be exact I have not weighed since 7/19 and as of then I had lost 91lbs. I was 321lbs. You see I would drive myself nuts weighing everyday, I was weighing weekly, then bi-weekly and it was discouraging me when I would not lose a lot so I only weigh at monthly support group meetings. I do not even have a scale at my home, if I want to weigh I have to go all the way to my Drs. office. I cannot speak for anyone else but I feel great I have had no problems or complications I am truly BLESSED. This is a wonderful experience, procedure or whatever it shall be called. I do get discouraged at times, and when I do I put on my 5X BIG DOG t-shirt and my size 32 pants and thank GOD that I can no longer were them. keep up the good work and take care.

Because I started out at such a high weight (420lbs), I only weigh myself every 2 weeks at the drs office because they have a digital scale. I am almost down to where I can weigh on a regular house scale (341lbs at last check), but then I have promised myself even then I will only weigh at the most once a week. So, according to the drs scale last week, I am down 79lbs. Fortunately for me, I havent started losing the hair yet, but know it is eventually gonna catch up to me. my hair isnt really growing either, so i know its inevitable. I do still have trouble keeping foods down, but keep trying anyways. HATE the protein shakes, the aftertaste makes me sick. Congrats to all of you who have lost so much, and to those of you out there that havent lost as fast as you want...just remember, it will come off eventually, and its more that probably any of us had lost pre-surgery. dont give up, keep your eye on the prize.

I found a shampoo and conditioner made by Nexxus at my local salon. It is called Vitatress and it is a biotin shampoo. They also make a leave in conditioner and a styling gel that I have been using. It comes in green bottles. As I said in a earlier post my hair is starting to grow, don't know if this has anything to do with it, but you never know.
