Topic: RE: Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
Hi Gina! I am glad to hear your Grandfather is doing better. And what a compliment!!! He is definately a smart man!
My WoW this past week is I ran into 3 different people at different times and they said they didn't recognize me and had to take double and triple takes!! I havn'nt seen any of them since about a month out of surgery. True I have changed my hair quit a bit....(its shorter and darker) but they all 3 went on and on about how good I look. It really made me feel good.

Maybe it's simply that you had your complications in the beginning and will be blessed now with an easier path.
I don't want to say you're eating too much but have you tried eating less? If "kill a watermelon" means you're eating a whole watermelon...wow. I don't like to criticize, but that seems excessive to me. Plus there's no protein in watermelon. My surgeon limits me to one or two 1/2 cup fruit servings per day because of the natural sugars.
Perhaps you should talk to your surgeon's nutritionist about a diet plan.

Topic: OK What's the deal?
I had surgery on April 28th and as of two weeks ago, I had lost 130lbs. I am very happy with my losses. Here's the question. I am finding that I can eat quite a bit. two poached eggs, 4 slices tomato, and about 5 oz of cottage cheese. It seems like so much more than the rest of you. I can flat out kill a watermelon, or a batch of nectarines. I am so dedicated to making good food choices, that I do not concern myself with quantity so much. Am I going about this all wrong? I have made one bad food choice since my release from the hospital. I didn't dump, but the remorse was enough to keep me from doing it again. I hear about stretching the pouch, but I never feel any pain, nor do I get sick. I am one of those who had complications, I spent 6 weeks in the hospital after surgery. My girlfriend is so excited. She told me last night what a success I was and how proud she was of me. I told her to hold that thought until 1 year, and we could celebrate. To me the success will come in the long run. Right now I am in the middle of the struggle.

This is a good kick in the pants for all of us. Well worth saving for times when we need to focus on our goals.
Jackie - I'm hoping you get your ducks in a row and stay on the losing path. You need to do this for you. You're worth it!

Hey Stayce, since you helped Jackie so thoroughly, can you post the pouch rules? I need to follow them more carefully and want to print them out and carry them with me and I can't seem to get my hands on them.
I use fitday religiously but need help in the emotional area too! I can't use food as a coping mechanism anymore and I'm still adjusting to that.
Thanks,
L*
