Thanks, I was a little disappointed in the beginning because it seemed to me that many had lost much more than me, but I have been pretty consistent with my weight loss, so I can't really complain. I have had a few stalls, but I am still very pleased. Now, I have to get used to all the attention and compliments, I must say "Thank you" a hundred times a day now LOL, but I'm learning to accept them and not take it so personal that I must have looked a hot mess to folks before

Down 71 lbs at my 6 month marker - things have slowed dramatically but I'm okay with that. I could never have lost the weight without this surgery. I am struggling with low energy though and wondering if I'll ever feel good again. Some days I just want to lay around all day. I used to be so motivated - you'd think the weight loss would have improved this? Oh well, I'm giving my body one year to recover before I make any judgements. This has been a long and tough road at times. I haven't been up to much - working all week, movies on the weekend and trying to keep up with the house - its about all I can handle. How is everyone else's energy these days? Linda 256/185/155

Congratulations? Did your doctor suggest you eat more protein or more salad and vegestables or what? Did he suggest you exercise less to give your body a break? Good luck to you, Lynda

Thanks Linda for the post. I'm only 50lbs away from goal and it seem like I am never going to get there. I was hoping to lose at least 87lbs by my 6 month check up. It's true with me also. I need to stay away from the scale. That is my biggest downfall. Weighing myself at least 4 times a day since I had the surgery done. I just don't want to stay off the scale for a week or two and when I finally weight myself again I will only have lost 1 or 2 lbs. That would really send me into a extreme state of depression. Can't really tell if I am losing inches or not. My clothes are fitting the same to me. I'm going to stay strong for you and check back with you in about a month to give you an update on my progress.

Good week... 281 start and now 218 today. Might be dealing with more surgery though. I have a very painful and large uterine fibroid causing severe abdominal cramping and bleeding. It is bad enough to keep me home from work. Looking into a variety of treatment options. Not so sure I want to deal with more general anesthesia since I have not even hit 6 months out yet. Maybe hold off or do uterine embolization procedure.

Hello, I'm doing great and feeling pretty good these days. I am down 70 pounds from 245 to 175. I haven't been able to work-out like I want to, but hopefully that will change soon.

Topic: 6 month check-up
My 6 month check-up was today and I got news that I never expected!!! I have lost 50 pounds to date and I was feeling kinda down. Even though I know everyone loses at a different rate, I couldnt help feeling a little depressed at how sl-o-o-o-ly this was going. I must be doing something wrong. Well, I AM!!! I'm not eating enough. Dr. Hamad must have seen my shock cause she laughed and said "I'll bet no one else ever told you that before." I keep track of my food intake and exercise on Fitday and took a representative sample of it and lo and behold it seems that with the amount of exercise I get(about 2-3 miles a day) and what I'm taking in they think my body is going into starvation mode and slowing my metabolism down even more. So instead of being told "you are eating too much" it's just the opposite. I have renewed hope!
